Jerry Green brought some good basketball to Tennessee. Attendance was spotty and "love" was nonexistent long before he started calling out its fan base.
How many top 20 classes has Gregg Marshall, Shaka Smart, and Mark Few had? If next year turns out to be what most of you are predicting, then you can have at it involving his removal. The fact we're having this discussion while his team is preparing to play its biggest game in 3 years is a testament to this fan base's idiocy.
Elite coaches are measured by elite success in March. Marshall has been the closest to the summit and has a legitimate shot this year.
Considering his NCAA appearances and winning percentages at Tennessee, he wasn't a bad one. Few and Marshall didn't become elite coaches over night. Which is exactly why the jury is still out for Cuonzo Martin
In what world was Jerry Green a good coach?
And those guys don't have to play 18 games against major conference foes a season to even make the NCAA tournament. They also appear to be elite coaches, especially Marshall and Few. Which can overcome the lack to top 20 classes.
Zo is not an elite coach.
Rucker is saying he was paraphrasing and that he can't read for the people that follow him. Just to review, here was the tweet:
'Cuonzo: I'm really happy for our true fans -- the ones who have been behind us the whole time'
I tweeted him that it's irresponsible but he takes no responsibility at all. It's our fault for thinking it was a quote.
Anyway, apologies to Zo. He didn't deserve the extra criticism coming his way from this "paraphrasing".
By the way, who are you going to root for if Tennessee draws the Dookies?
