So out of curiousity, let's say we beat Iowa, thus leaving no argument that Martin made the tourney. Given his finish in the league in his 3 years, and as many or more NCAAT appearances as Haith, Anderson and Grant in that time period...what do you think Hart bumps his salary to?
Anderson is a 2.2m, Grant around 2.0m, iirc Haith 1.6m...I would think Hart gives him about a $500k raise from $1.3m to $1.8m.
Thought you were done talking about it. I doubt he's gonna get that kind of raise. He's never got in and he finally squeaks in and we give him a 35% raise? Good night, that would be silly.

Again, I highly doubt Hart will look at the salaries of other coaches.
Hart didn't even hire Martin. He got Martin for cheap and no pressure. Hart has no obligations to bump him regardless. He'll "match" an offer if Martin get other offers though if Hart wants Martin to stay.
It was $50k, when's the last time you got a $50k raise lol
Lol lol LOL it was 3% dude. Quit trying to make it more than what it was. It was a way if showing a little faith in your coach after turning him down for the extension he wanted.
How many times has he been granted an extension since being here?
Oh so Hart has faith in Martin? Interesting.
So Martin might get another $50k max according to Zit?
No. I don't think he does. If he did, he would have extended him. It was an olive branch as I said. He refused to extend him and have him a 3% raise instead.
. I've always been civil with you. Not sure why you're name calling.
I don't know what kind of raise he will get. I'll make that prediction when he's done this year but I'll bet it's not $500k. I'll go ahead and make that prediction right now.
Ok, so throw a number out? I said around 500k, could it be 450k? Sure.
It's easy to sit back and laugh and scoff and say yea right that's not happening, well how about saying something then?
If Hart has no faith in him, and he's as bad as you think, then surely Hart doesn't even give him another $50k right?
I think Hart kicks the can down the road. One year extension with a minimal raise.
Next year we will be back in the same boat. I don't think he gives a $500k raise to him. Maybe he tries to revamp Martin's staff. I don't think CCM goes for that though.
Nope, with a one year extension you may as well fire him because you are crippling his recruiting abilities. If you were a top player would you sign with a coach who is working on a one year extension. If you were recruiting against that coach, wouldn't that be the first thing you mentioned. You can't cut a coach off at the knees in recruiting and then complain that he can't recruit.
I understand that. He would be getting an extension to his current deal. Not a one year deal. Right now he's in year 3 of a five year deal. He's never got an extension. A one year extension would mean he has three years left on his deal not 1.
I think it's time to cut ties or give him a 2 year extension. Not sure hart will do either.
I agree with you on this, and it is one reason why I could see Martin leaving (as much as that would thrill some of you). If U.T. isn't will to make enough of a commitment to make recruiting easier for Coach Martin he is fighting against a stacked deck.
