You make a fair point. But I think you have to use the "eye test" and other factors to evaluate this year's team. To me, though, it's still an open question as to whether Kim's system, as is, will take the Lady Vols all the way to where they want to go.

The present portal transfer system and NIL rules may prove not to be sustainable. Future NCAA and conference actions may considerably tame the wild-west scenario we have now. Smart coaches will keep their recruiting, player development and rosters balanced to be prepared for whatever comes.
