North Carolina is painful to watch. Wanted them to lose today but WV got hosed by the officials. UNC brand of basketball is too ugly for words.

You know, I have complained at times about Paige and Azzi. Maybe I've just been way too harsh (probably; I'm cantankerous and used to being spoiled by other UConn greats). Seeing Paige tonight, she was playing like the superstar that she could have been all along if not for injuries. Just effortless from her tonight. And Azzi, even with perimeter shots not falling early, looked fearless driving in the paint.

Man. No matter what happens, it was good to see.

A great achievement. But, of course, for 17 of those years a team only had to win one game to reach the Sweet 16 since there were only 32 teams in the Tourney.

I hesitate to post this information on costing a women's program after reviewing the many "just plain nasty" comments made my TN (all male) fans on the Facebook welcoming Harper to Missouri.

the salary and operations costs are broken down in a manner that can be understood and identifies the various financial silos.

MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) she signed on March 19, Harper received a $35,000 signing bonus and is guaranteed $4.5 million across a five-year deal that runs April 1, 2025 — March 31, 2030. Her base salary sits at $300,000 per year with additional non-salary portions ranging from $550,000-650,000 per year. Per USA today’s database of salaries, the roughly $900,000 per year would put her close to the top 20 highest paid coaches in WBB, falling between Michigan’s Kim Barnes Arico and Carolina’s Courtney Banghart. Notably, Harper also gets an up to $100,000 annual personal flight expense budget.

In addition, there are major monetary incentives for various accomplishments such as NCAA tournament appearances ($25,000), Coach of the Year ($25,000) and academic performance, which is based on the team’s multi-year APR rate ($25,000), and others. The academic goals piece should be easy— Mizzou regularly exceeds the sport’s national average.

This new contract is similar to Harper’s at Tennessee, where she earned $5.5 million across five years, earning roughly $1.1 million yearly. Per the MOU, she will also receive $950,000 for women’s basketball specific staffing needs, including five assistants, one S&C coach, one DBO, one director of creative content, and one director of video/analytics operations
