I disagree. Not having a natural position kept him from being a 4*. Right now he is a 5'11.5" 200 pound LB.

Agree with this. For some reason he played DE his soph and junior yr. so his only LB or nickel film was sr yr.

Hmm so maybe Gaulden will start off at corner/nickel unless they think Kelly or McDowell will be LB at some point. Butch has said 3 safeties coming in. I could be over thinking so he could consider berry simply as nickel in his mind to start off.

He has the speed and size to play nickelback. With his size he wouldn't give up the edge for 10+ yards like we been accustomed to.. I think those days are almost over.

2012 denzel nkemdiche type LB but a little bigger. Versatile in the new era of football. Kid will be a good one as he develops.

They went to an Under Armour combine and a Rivals camp. Evan got a 4th star and Elliot didn't. I remember Woody Wommack saying something like, "they have a very different skill set".

As more and more teams adopt a spread style of offense, defenses will have to adjust with faster and slightly smaller LBer's. Might need 2 different sets of LB's. Bigger guys to play the Alabubba's and smaller/faster guys for the Oregon's. TK Jr, JRM, and Berry fit the Oregon mold.

"Twin-brother legacy freshmen Evan Berry and Elliot Berry confirmed Friday that they're still playing defensive back for Tennessee at this point, and both plan to open their first preseason camp as defensive backs.
Elliot Berry told reporters that he's been working at the safety and nickel positions but might move to outside linebacker in the future, and Evan Berry said he's been working exclusively at the cornerback position.

Both brothers said they didn't care what position they played, and that they just wanted to help a program they've known since childhood get back to its winning ways. Elliot said he "wouldn't care at all" if he were moved to linebacker.
Evan Berry and Elliot Berry are the younger brothers of former Vols and current Kansas City Chiefs star Eric Berry, and the sons of former Vols tailback James Berry."
