‘21 GA C Ryan Mutombo

Based off some conversations we’ve had this week it very much feels like Tennessee is fading with four star big man Ryan Mutumbo. From what we’re hearing family pressure to follow in his father’s footsteps to Georgetown and play for his father’s good friend and former teammate Patrick Ewing is simply going to be too much to overcome. Tennessee was definitely trending for Mutumbo, and without the family connections this one might already be over for the Vols, but right now it definitely feels like Georgetown is the team to beat.

Reactions: Vols All Day
Weird that Tennessee would seemingly surge and have momentum, you’d think whatever those good vibes were would’ve had to of been something Ryan and his father had discussed, strange.

Will Patrick Ewing even be around if Georgetown continues to struggle?

Makes no sense to me.

I'm placing the odds at 66% chance Ewing is not the coach two years from now. People here in Georgetown are not happy with his progress. He's entering Year 4 and there have been so many transfers and scandals involving sexual assault that next year's team is going to be one of the worst in the Big East. He's lost like 5-6 players off last year's team and supplemented it with a mediocre recruiting class at best. He's arguably in a worse position going into Year 4 than Year 1. Only reason he is still the coach is because he's Patrick Ewing and he is a Georgetown legend. However, the goodwill is fading fast.

If there’s one thing I don’t worry about at all under Barnes, it’s big men.

He turned a 6-6 pudgy kid with only Ivy League offers into a first round draft pick whose number will hang from the rafters at TBA someday.

He turned a rail thin white kid from Kingsport into an all SEC player who could legitimately contend for conference POY this year.

If we land the big fish, great. If not, Barnes will find someone else he can work with.
