We used to say the Gulf Stream hung a right at Ft. Pierce, FL. The stream goes north and the shore heads west.That's amazing that they run so close in.
Once the Gulf Stream hangs a right off Hatteras, fishing gets very different, it seems.
He's a beaut though. I know nothing of fish - is that what @joevol33 would probably call a stripper?
Yes, it’s very obvious on a map of ocean currents. It just “feels” as if it leaves N. America around Hatteras and takes off for Europe/ British Isles.It doesn't so much turn as the beach does. I have been in the water outside St. Lucie inlet in the middle of August and the water almost too cold to get in. It gets crystal clear when it's like that.
