Apparently came from 4chan a few years back. I had never seen them.

These are going up all over Memphis - to much consternation. Clearly meant to be provocative.

Is it ok though?

I hate you white bastards, you stink. I hate your white skin. I hate your white pants. I hate white salt. I hate white keys on a piano. I hate my gums, because they're white. I hate Tom Hanks lips. I hate the back of Tim Allen’s neck. Most of all, I hate that white-ass Brad Pitt!

(bonus points to anyone who gets this movie reference).

Some of that for sure.

Is it okay to say - “it’s okay to be white”?

That’s causing the furor

Sure. It's just stupid.

I realize there are some radical social science professors that may refer to me as a white devil, but not one person in my life has ever made me feel like it's not OK to be white, and I've been white my whole life. I don't take on the sins of racist whites from the past and present and bear them like a cross. I have no guilt about any of that, and therefore I do not go on the defensive and allow myself to feel victimized when people bash racist whites. Some people want to be victimized, especially about race. It really gets the ego off.

And it's stupid that people would get mad about saying "it's OK to be white." I don't understand what's wrong with it, besides the whole premise for this act of protest being ridiculous.

Do people want to be victims or are they seeing a disturbing double standard and weird trends they should find troubling?

Completely dismissing the idea of anti white sentiment in today’s cultural seems absurd

People want to be victims. There is some anti-white sentiment in the US, just like there is anti-[name the race] sentiment in this country. I think things that are not anti-white (like diversity measures) are being called anti-white so people can claim to be victims.

I’d argue anti white sentiment is mainstream. You can have people openly speak about white people on mainstream broadcasts in a way no other ethnicity would tolerate. And it’s allowed because of white guilt.

You're talking about a double standard about sensitivity, not explaining how things are actually anti-white.

You can say, "he's as an old, out-of-touch white dude" and the mainstream will not get offended, but that's not necessarily a reflection of anti-white sentiment. That just means we're not overly sensitive about whites.

White fragility and black fragility are the same thing. They both believe in the guilt of white people due to their belief in the superiority of white people.

I’ll add that It’s rarely if ever considered “diversity” when white people are added into the mix.

“Welcome Tom Smith to our team as part of our diversity initiative” isn’t exactly being promoted at predominantly black organizations.

Diversity usually just means “We didn’t hire a white guy. Congratulate us now”.

I regard the SJWs that pound home all white people are evil with the same apathy that I give to the 'necks that act like black people are all thugs. They are vocal minorities with hate in their heart and not worth my attention.

As a white man I've never felt discriminated against in this country. Egypt was a different story; they charged me 10x what they charged the locals for anything. I understand the hustle though.
