ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- No. 12 Tennessee's hunt for a conference title begins Tuesday afternoon in the SEC Soccer Tournament quarterfinals, as the second-seeded Vols take on No. 10 seed Florida. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala.

Tennessee enters the match fresh off clinching an SEC East title with a 2-0 win over Kentucky at home on Thursday. The Vols finished the regular season with a 15-2-0 overall record and an 8-2-0 mark in conference play.

Florida was in action on Sunday against No. 7 seed Vanderbilt, advancing on PKs after the game remained tied 1-1 through two overtimes. Florida is 4-11-4 on the year and 3-6-1 in SEC games.

The Vols and the Gators have played each other once already this season, matching up on Oct. 7 when UT took a 2-0 win at home.

Tuesday's match will be televised on SEC Network, with Alex Perlman and Jill Loyden on the call. Live stats will be provided via StatBroadcast, and fans can follow @Vol_Soccer on Twitter for live match updates.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY: Tennessee has claimed four SEC Tournament crowns since the program's inception in 1996, winning the event in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2008. In 36 matches, UT owns a 15-15-6 record in the conference showcase.

ALL-SEC VOLS: Tennessee head coach Brian Pensky was tabbed SEC Coach of the Year, Taylor Huff was named SEC Freshman of the Year, and six Vols were selected to the 2021 All-Southeastern Conference teams.
Senior Mackenzie George earned First Team All-SEC honors while redshirt-sophomore Jaida Thomas, freshman Taylor Huff, and senior Wrenne French were named Second Team All-SEC. Tennessee landed three on the SEC All-Freshman Team with Taylor Huff, Jordan Fusco, and Claire Rain each making the list. Tennessee has now had nine players named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in the past eight seasons.

It is Pensky's first SEC Coach of the Year accolade and the first time a UT coach was tabbed since Angela Kelly in 2005. Huff is just the third Volunteer to pick up SEC Freshman of the Year honors and the first since Genna Gorman in 2004.

UP NEXT: The winner of Tuesday's contest will advance to the SEC Tournament semifinals, facing the winner of No. 6 Alabama vs. No. 3 Ole Miss on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET. The matchup will be televised on SEC Network.

Yes he is. Never should have been hired at UT

Voted on by the league’s coaches.

Brian Pensky • SEC Coach of the Year

In his 10th season on Rocky Top, Pensky led UT to its second straight SEC East Championship. With a record of 15-2-0 overall and 8-2-0 in conference play, the 2021 squad amassed the most regular-season wins in program history and didn’t allow a single goal during non-conference play, setting a program-best shutout streak of 633:53 that spanned eight games.

Orange Beach is a short drive (35 miles) from the Old Gules so I'm debating whether to go watch the match. Of course, my beautiful face and white hat might just be too distracting for them to handle? decisions, decisions!!!
