It’s only from this prism that Robert Nelson’s pre-visit pledge to Volunteer can be fully appreciated as the 6-0, 209-pound, defender is an example of perfect fit. An undersized linebacker, he compensates with an explosive first step, a high RPM engine, keen instincts and arresting quickness. Put it all together and you get a coiled striker and tackling machine who is custom made for a heavy pressure system like employed by Monte Kiffin.
What kills me is, we watch Rivals videos whereas the coaches watch videos of these kids we never get to see from what I know about the whole recruiting process. The coaches see more that's for sure.
I think Greg King has already committed to the coaches.
I'm pretty sure Lane has witnessed first-hand how quickly a recruit can change his mind. He knows what he is doing. He has a plan.
He also coached at a school at it's peak during it's title runs. He's coming after a 5-7 season and the SEC where nothing is certain day to day. Like I said, I'm not complaining and I have faith, I'm just concerned. More concerned with this class really, next year I have no worries.
I agree with you for the most part.
On the other hand Kiffin came into USCw when they weren't at the top of the game and he saw what it takes to build a program. Also, our recruiting coordinator made Ole Miss competative in the recruiting world (which was not an easy task).
I just have a hard time believing that they would be so naive.
