Tennessee offered a scholarship to Josh Nunes, QB out of Upland, California. Seems like we're making offers to every good CA QB.

UCLA is probably the frontrunner, but they haven't offered. Nunes had nothing but great things to say in his interview with Rick Krembel.

he has already has a very high SAT score and is retaking the exam. That usually points to a likely stanford commit and that is what i've been hearing. :dunno:

I don't think that. But tennisguy said he thought Forcier was better and what I really meant is I'd take either one.

We won't get 2 highly rated Rb's nor will we get 2 highly rated QB's.

Well, by what you are saying we can get two highly rated QB's because we have before. I really don't see either happening.

I guess you're right, but I still think it would be easier to sign two highly rated RBs. I'm not saying we will sign both, but I don't think its impossible.

I definitely agree with that. I think I said that earlier actually.

I would be shocked if we didn't sign 2 highly rated RB's. giles, Oku, Conner and wingo are all possibilites. I'd be shocked if we didn't atleast sign 2 of these guys...thigpen and williams will both be defensive players.

back to nunes... he had this to say about his recent orange offer...

"I talked to Tennessee on the phone today during my PE class with (UT offensive coordinator) Coach Dave Clawson," Nunes said. "It was a real positive and upbeat conversation and he offered me. He let me know that they didn't want to wait to get an offer out to me and wanted to make it official before he gets out to my school next week."

" It was a real honor to be able to receive an offer from such a powerhouse organization with such a great history at quarterback," Nunes said. "I'm excited to get to know the staff better and be able to have such a great option like Tennessee."

"They're definitely going to be at the top of my list as I begin to narrow down my choices by the end of this May," Nunes said. "This made losing Cal as one of my top five a pretty easy pill to swallow.

sounds like he is more than a little interested! the only thing that worries me is that he wants to make an early decision and we were very late to offer. regardless he seems like tennessee is huge option, but bridgford sounded like this too after he got an offer and commited to cal the very next day

He is a smart kid. The best way to get exposure is to talk this highly about every school that offers you.

New article up on Scout (not a subscriber so I can't read it) saying Florida is after him now as well. I don't know if that means this kid is "that good" -- but he is garnering attention from across the US by two top SEC programs. (No, don't let the thread turn into a debate about whether or not UT is a powerhouse -- stay focused people)

I know nothing about the kid but now that UF is after him. I want to get him -- just so UF doesn't.

Tennessee is as much of a powerhouse as FSU or Penn St is right now... :p

honors classes and AP classes are on a 5.0 scale for most high schools. take self reported GPAs with a grain of salt though.
