Watching the replay the officials missed at least 4 holds on different runs by Hurts. Most costly on his "TD" run.
Officiating in Bama games is a complete joke!
We have reduced our football watching about 90% over the last few years, got rid of cable completely, some of the reason is bad refereeing in sports.... and that pertains to games in which I have no real bias or don't care who wins in the game that is being played. Every game that is even remotely close in today's game seems to be heavily influenced by bad calls or inconstant refereeing. It's getting worse.
I think a good example of this is the world series the other night, there was a play at 2nd base the other night... it was clear the baseman didn't have the ball in his glove in real-time... it wasn't even close, yet somehow the ump completely blew the call yet he was in perfect position as he was 15 feet away... although the call was reversed by instant replay... how do you miss that call? Now imagine in a football game where the referee has to watch many things at one time.
As far as last night, I thought it was a little looped-sided but I am homer on this subject, but the one that kind changed the game to me was the late hit out of bounds.... whether it a good call could be disputed I think. I felt at the time when it happened that it changed the game.
With that said, Alabama really won because the game because LSU's OL can't pass protect against the good Ds, and Alabama has a top DL.
I am not whining because LSU lost, they lost, I do have issues with how games are called in general.... and like I said its so bad I really don't want to watch sports because of how bad it is.
Congrads to Bama, they are a very good team, they won and my comments should not be taken as way of minimalizing their victory.
