You cannot convince me that the entire review time wasn't spent trying to figure out how to reverse the play to favor Alabama. That was freaking rough to see. The XFL review process should be used for reviews. It was faster and seemed to always get the call right in a concise way.

It was an egregious flag. Not even close to roughing or targeting. Let’s just call it what it is: penalty for stalling out Alabama’s offense.

If I were listening to my emotional bias, I would agree with you. However, the refs nullified both calls. I'm guessing Bryce was either out of the pocket, or the tipped pass negated an intentional grounding call. At least this time, I think they actually got it right.

Back to the game, the shocking thing is that Texas has truly dominated this game.

Dropped a TD pass early in the game (settled for a FG later), missed a chip shot FG, screwed out of a safety.

Alabama OL hasn't been able to block anyone since the 81 yard TD run.

I disagree. This has been the most I've seen called against Bama in a long time. Several against their secondary that never gets called

Sure, they finally got called for a couple obvious pass interference plays, but only after they'd already missed two obvious (and costly!) interference plays before those -- both on the left side of the field. I suspect someone made a phone call to someone to tell that officiating team they'd better open their eyes.

Bama has issues at WR compared to the last 4 yrs. Those guys were impossible to cover. These guys aren’t near in that class.
