Gotta think Auburn will be #1 in South and Duke #1 in East. That leaves Midwest and West let’s just say we are teetering the 4 vs 5 overall seed would you prefer us getting that ever elusive #1 but have to travel west coast or closer to home with a 2 seed? Obviously the #1 Midwest would be the preference but the universe/ncaa would never….

If we win out we’ll be #1 in the Midwest, IMO.

You always want the 1, regardless of location. I’d have thought last year would’ve ended this debate. Had we been the last 1 I seats of UNC we would’ve made the Final 4. Instead, as the top 2 seed, our reward was a matchup with the Jolly Green Giant in the Elite 8. Also, historically speaking, 1 seeds are twice as likely to make a Final 4 as 2 seeds. I thought maybe that trend had changed more recently due to more talent spread but it hasn’t in the last 10 years.

I personally want #2 in the east. I think there is very little room between Auburn Duke Florida and Tennessee, and even Alabama….

So if we are down to the final 1 seed or the first 2 seed in a geographical friendly place, I will take that. I have zero concerns about having to matchup with Duke in the E8 for a trip to final four if the seeds play out.

2 seed with Houston as the 1 seems more appealing than most the other 1 seeds, of course long way to go. Us being the 1 in the Midwest with Houston as our 2 is even more appealing imo

1st round location info:

If we get Lexington, which would be best case scenario because it likely means we are a 1 seed, we play Thursday and Saturday

If we get Raleigh, we'll be sharing that location with Duke. Those games are Friday/Sunday and we will probably be session 1 on Friday because I'm sure Duke will get the evening session

If we get Cleveland, it's Friday/Sunday.

I don't think any other locations are realistically in play for us.

Sorry, posting from my iPhone. Went a little haywire. Meant to say, I prefer to not be matched up with Duke in Raleigh in an elite 8 matchup should that happen.

We wouldn't be matched up with Duke in Raleigh. Raleigh is just the 1st and 2nd round location. Duke will likely be in the East region, so if we play Duke, it will be in Newark, NJ.

I would argue that in the event that happens, the arena might be packed to the gills with Orange.

I also think while Flagg is obviously much better than the last Duke team we faced, the age / experience / growth advantage is in our favor. I agree that Duke is one of the best 4 teams, but I don't think they have been punched in the mouth by another top team. And the early season matchups aren't a good barometer.
