#1 in West or #2 Midwest?

I’m aware, if we get the MW it means we’re ahead of Bama which means Lexington
I know. What I'm saying is we're also in Lexington if we're a #2 in any region and Bama is also a #2 in any region, but behind us in the overall rankings. Or if we're a #1 in the West - we're still in Lexington first. Your post reads like we have to be in the Midwest Region to play in Lexington, which is misleading.

We had this exact conversation last year. It’s always the 1-seed. Statistics prove it to be true that the higher seed has a better chance of winning the tournament.

I also don’t want to hear the same nonsense we heard last year about how we will have some massive fan presence if we stay closer to home for the 2nd weekend. It didn’t happen. Basically no Vol fans went to Detroit. Take the easier path.

Not what it said, in fact my post right before that lays out the Alabama situation

Honestly, I'd rather have the #2 on the east coast then #1 on the west. You could easily be paired up against a lower seed west coast team and then it feels like a road game, but with elimination on the line. That type of pressure can be overwhelming.

Plus, I like how our style matches up against Duke. We took it to them last time and I don't think they have played a defense anything like ours. Either way, if you want to win the whole thing, you will likely have to face them at some point.

I disagree
So you think we’re athletic enough to slow down their offense? And, make enough shots to from beyond the arc?

I’m not intimidated by the name on the front of the jersey and I’ve despised Duke since I was a kid in the 80’s. But they are athletic, have post play, and Flagg is the real deal. We have little depth and I think we would get into foul trouble.

I was confident TN would beat Duke a few years ago and we did, but this is a different yr.

I’d love to read your thoughts. Thanks!

I personally want #2 in the east. I think there is very little room between Auburn Duke Florida and Tennessee, and even Alabama….

So if we are down to the final 1 seed or the first 2 seed in a geographical friendly place, I will take that. I have zero concerns about having to matchup with Duke in the E8 for a trip to final four if the seeds play out.
Funny thing is we all said that last year too. I do think there was more spread between UConn/Purdue and the rest than most thought.
