I will say that I think the winning team in a situation like this is in an awkward position. It's ok for USC to drive to try to score again to save face and make it look better (when they're clearly not going to win) - but it's not ok for Oregon to try to score again to help their BCS rank because that would look like running up the score. Doesn't seem quite right.
If one team has it's 1st team in playing all out, then it should be ok for the other team to do so. The winning team is only in the wrong if they play their 1st team all out when the other team is playing subs or is clearly just trying to run out the clock to get out of there. jmo
