Does anyone think that a 16 seed will ever upset a 1 seed in the tournament? If I remember correctly, last year Vermont gave UConn all they wanted for 30-35 minutes.

I'm sure somewhere sometime it will happen, but I won't hold my breath.

Princeton had Georgetown on the ropes. ETSU had Oklahoma staggered. Western Carolina should have beaten Purdue. Eventually, somebody will pull it off.

I hope Tennessee never receives a number one seed, because it is our luck that we would be the first one to lose.

There were a couple 1v16 games that were close last year, at least for a while.

Duke/Southern, Nova/Monmouth, and UConn/Albany. I just don't think the 16's have the stamina to hang with a #1 seed for the whole game. It will happen eventually.

It'll definatley happen and before very long is my guess. So many teams from the smaller conferences or mid majors can beat anyone in the country on a given nite these days. Also when it happens I think it'll be a Big 10 or Pac 10 team that goes down.

Why not an ACC powerhouse? The tallest trees in the forest always fall the hardest. On terms of name recognition, the two schools with easily the biggest ball programs in the country are just down the road from eachother.

two of these three from the SoCon... A once strong mid major conference now mired in irrelevence. Sad.
The Southern Conference needs better play out of its two flagship programs, UTC and College of Charleston. Bob McKillop is holding up his end of the equation at Davidson.

Cremins will have Charleston back very soon. If he's still there next year, he'll have them back in no time.

Seems to me that last year, a 15 seed almost knocked off a 2 seed again. Who was that? I think it was Winthrop but for the life of me I can't remember the 2 seed :whistling:

UTC is hemorhaging players. Shulman is a decent fellow, but I'm not sure the future belongs in his hands. We need someone who can bring the program back to life. CPR ain't working...

I guess what I meant was, would the UT system allow such a move?
Given that it would boost probably the most recognizable program in the UT system outside of Knoxville, as well as give a qualified minority candidate a shot, I don't think they would stand in the way.

I know Mack McCarthy was pissed he didn't get the UT job! Looking back could he of done any worse?
