If that is the case, who are we waiting on ahead of him? Payne and Bryant? Anyone else?

Payne, Bryant, Riggs, Joyner, Shaw, Wright, etc. are all still possibilities. I'm sure we will still be recruiting Demar Dorsey, Tyler Stephenson, and Desmond Brown right up until NSD as well...

LV what happened to Desmond Brown I thought he loved Monte and he takes a trip to Clemson and he is all Clemson?

imo he is not all Clemson. Clemson has a few more DBs committed too. If we really want him in January and February and put the press on him, he would be a Vol...

He's down our board, we would have to miss on a few guys. He has 10 tackles and a pick on the year.

He was at the UCLA game.

boom! i don't have a subscription but the part I could read was how KY was recruiting him the hardest. That doesn't sound like our staff.

He has a scholarship offer from UT.

Hes way down the list right now and tbh with all the recent interest we have been getting I think he may be on the back burner. We would have to strike out on a whole lot of people to take him at this point. I think he they wanted him bad enough he would have committed a long time ago.

I agree with this. However, having a scholarship offer from UT means that the coaches think this kid can play. It's not that they don't want him, but he may be more of a fallback option, and a decent one at that.

I think he got his offer from camp. But since then we have gotten in with alot more big time DBs.

He tried to commit a while back. We turned down his commitment...

"To tell you the truth I was actually going to commit to Tennessee while I was there," Trimble said. "I like everything about them. They were the first school to offer me. They have been writing my mom letters and everything like that. They have always kept up with me."

"I am not really sure what the hold up is right now. I kind of understand what they were saying about wanting to see me this year, but I still don’t really know. They are going to take two more cornerbacks and trying to decide, I guess, which ones they want to take. I am just going to go out there and do my thing."

It would take misses on Mitchell, Elam, Dorsey, Ogletree, Robey, Riggs, Riley, Wright, Dixon, Stephenson, Bryant, Hampton etc. I think Menzie is def a VOL but I dont see more than 2 DBs coming in this class. Menzie one and ? the other. Personally I like our chances with Wright. I can see Meline bailing on us or being told to do so, but I still think we shoud expect 2 DBs.

Menzie and Wright seems right to me...

Wright is saving his money to get here with his mom to convince her.

Luc it was about convincing family.
Quarles it is about convincing family.

A Dixon and Stephenson could be paired with Wright without Menzie.

Dale Trimble is in the same place as Chucky, they are going to be successful, but not at UT IMO. At least they are not currently recruited commits who are going to have to have a talk in December if they do not understand what 2 weeks of no calls means.

I dunno this kid really seems like he wants to be a vol....i remember an interview where kiffin said he wants to recruit players who want to be here and fit our system more than just recruiting for stars

JMO though

A solid player......?? Is that what we're trying to get?? Gadsden is in my sales territory and I have watched Trimble play a few times. While he is a decent player, he is NOT a great player. I know that he does not currently have a commitable offer to Bama as he tried to commit but was told to wait. Surely we are not going to take a reject from that state in a year where the talent level is down.......

:good!:

Chucky Curry, all not room team.

This is gonna turn out just like our QB situation did when we delayed getting after other QB's when the staff was all googly eyed over Jake Heaps. When we lost him, it was all Scroggins, after we lost him, we had Bray fall in our laps luckily. I hope the staff takes the blinders off an don't concentrateon one position player at a time while others move elsewhere. I guess we didn't want Trimble, now Menzie is going to Ole Miss, Luc to FSU, hopefully the staff has some suprises to turn to. This has been a tough weekend.

Trimble will fit Kentucky's system better than ours. He's an okay/good player but his speed is only marginal. He'll be a good player for Kentucky but we'd be unimpressed at having him here. Just like the Cobb situation. We want Cobb now but he wouldn't have gotten the same opportunity here as he's gotten for the Wildcats.
