Lance Thompson kicked Saban in the nuts already just getting him here to visit. When he sits in that office and talks about the talent disparity between the TN team that just held Bama without a TD and the defense that Crompton did well enough to win on with a real FG kicker, it will be hard not to think about UT.

He actually annonced in August he would visit UT among other SEC teams. He is not going to commit until NSD. So even if he is excited from the visit, it all wears off and 3 months down the road after the season is when winning him over will be important.

BTW the game was huge for us last week end recruiting. So yes a close really helped us.

Huge in recruiting for Bama??? NO. It WAS huge for Tennessee though. We kicked your butts all over your own turf and held you out of your own end zone. Totally laughable that it helps your recruiting. I heard that sigh of relief all the way from TuscaLoser after the second lucky block. Palardy will be kicking for us next year, gloater.

See you in Knoxville for the beatdown.

GO VOLS!!

I understand some fans take offense to rival fans posting but whatever. Was it good for us? Yes it was. We had over 30+ recruits for the 2011 and 2012 class on hand for the game. Most legit recruits do not look at records but the direction a program is heading. Sorry but if you honestly think UA is sliding maybe women's field hockey is a sport you need to go watch, because you have no clue about CFB. Even if UT does not go to a bowl or even if they finish 5-7 they will have a great class because recruits see the direction the program is heading under Kiffin and Co. I am not saying either will happen.

Now why do I say it was good for us, because atmosphere sells alot to a recruit. Why coaches bring in prospects for games. Imagine if the game was in Knoxville and UT blocked a game winning FG of UA as the game ends. What kind of emotion would go through Neyland at that moment? What kind of fan intensity would be shown? How excited would a teenager get with 100,000+ fans jumping and screaming in excitement? Now that prospect goes home and thinks about what if he made that play and the fans were cheering for him like that.

What is laughable is your assumptions. I do not get on this recruiting board to gloat. I have posted more than you on this board and try to show respect to the fans on this site. I get on here for info and to provide sometimes a prespective from a rival fan. I understand sometimes it may not be warranted. I myself find solice in the fact that I enjoy the game and respect rival fans.

Tide you bring a lot to this board and I am glad you are here.

You have been realistic about the fact that Alabama has third string guys who talent wise would start at UT. That is why I think direction was noted by recruits at the UT Alabama game and I do not think it was all good for Bama. You are not UGA with tons of talent and no results, but the struggle you had against a team with 2 starting walk on OL and a MLB who was beaten out by a 5'10 walk on (who is out with injury) is remarkable.

Lance Thompson is the only guy who could get CJ Mosely out of Alabama. I am not counting him out in his quest to do just that.

Auburn is falling apart. I fully expect TN to have a nice win streak here to finish with 7-8 wins. I think Auburn may lose every game here on but Furman. The momentum will be with us for Mosley and as I said, I think the game showed that Monte is just a cut above Kirby Smart.

Kirby also has so many Richt ties. I think Alabama is a better program, and Kirby may want to leave to be a HC at some point, but if I was Richt I would fire Willie and offer Bobo and offer Kirby their combined salaries and coach the offense myself.

In any case, Tidewarrior I think Lance Thompson will get some guys who Saban thought he had, and I think he will be our Garner in Georgia pulling guys like Whittaker and maybe even turning some UGA guys.

He will not leave the state of Alabama. By the way he was not at the game last weekend.

I know LV thinks any kid that goes to Knoxville for a visit becomes a UT lock or silent, but this kid will not be wearing orange next year atleat UT orange.

LOL, right on cue. Were you lurking or something?

There will always be players that Saban will not get. If that were not the case the rest of the SEC would be far behind us. The fact is there are alot of great recruiters in the SEC and players will be fought over.

The difference for us right now is that we are recruiting position specifics. Which means we are going after players that are filling spots for players that are graduating or areas we need improvement. So the players we are recruiting see the opportunity to come in and play within two years and develop. A game is a game and the results can help demonstrate needs.

No one is denying that UT or that Monte is heading in the right direction. But believe or not our defense is very good and has been since Saban arrived and will continue. Players see that and want to be a part of it, hence why we continue to recruit so well. The game did not hurt us in that regard.

In regard to CJ he said before the season started that he was going to visit schools, including UT and probably not commit until NSD. You make out like this was some big surprise and a result of the game. What I am surprised by is he is coming there on an unofficial visit not an official. A big difference between the two. The other thing is he is an instate prospect that wants to stay instate. Anything can happen, but my money will be on him at UA next year.

Keenan Allen has not come to UT on a visit and has not scheduled one as far as I know. Some think Alabama will end up with him.

They may take DeQuan Mckenzie Juco CB as well.

Alabama is also hoping to get James Stone.

Finally I read some rumors about Alabama taking Storm Johnson. Wow...TN would take better players at every one of those positions except Keenan Allen.

What say you Tidewarrior? I am still wishing and hoping for a CJ Mosley Luc combo but it seems increasingly unlikely...a Christian Jones, Luc combo would be just peachy to me though.

I think BAMA is done at rb, but as far as db's go, Mike Harris and Keenan Allen plus John Fulton. I think we end up with Arie and Stone/Coleman. I dont know about ut but thats a pretty good hall. Add CJ Mosely to the mix and thats a top 5 class. IMO BTW Keenan suposedly just committed and we want him at wr (i think). That should be it for the TIDE.

No RBs in this class, plus Storm didn't have us in his top 5 yesterday. I think K Allen makes his commitment known at the LSU game next weekend.

The top 2 OL on our boards seem to be J Stone and Arie k, with S Coleman 3rd.

I am not sure about the one DB, but M Harris has said he is ours, but I think he commited a little early, because we are waiting to see if J Fulton will come here. Even though Fulton says we are tied with USC I think it will be hard for us to get him to leave the state.

Also it looks like K Thompkins WR might end up here. He came on an official with M Harris last weekend. They both play JUCO together and apparantly he is really excited about his visit. KT also has 3 years of eligibilty left to play.

I would also watch out for Garrison Smith DE(UGA commit). He came last weekend for an unofficial and it looks like he is now coming for an official. Which surprises me, but it looks like B Lewis DE a JUCO might not come here. His stock had dropped this year. So maybe GS is the player for us if we can swing him.

CJ Mosley is believed to be ours, but anything can happen. It looks like he will make his announcement at the Army AA game, based on an interview from him Tuesday.

The only other players out there that are high on our board are J Hicks LB, which I would love to have him, but don't see it happening and A Dixon S, but depth will be an issue there.

Those are who we are still after it looks like. I do not see any other players and if we do not get those we just don't take a full class this year. Which is fine because the 2011 class looks a lot better and we seem to have more of them on campus then the 2010.

Is UT going after this cat? Does UT have a shot? He moved up recently, and I think he'd be a GREAT replacement for Luc. Just sayin'...

For some reason i worry about him going to Auburn. Seems like they are getting alot of good players. Hope he puts the orange cap on

If you look at Auburn's LB corp, they have 11 eligible guys returning. He talks about early playing time, and I just don't see that happening at either one of the schools(Aub or Ala). With our injury prone group(that's not a knock), and Lane's promise to always hold a competition in the spring for starters, it makes me feel like we have a shot. May be a long one, but it's definitely better than not.

Mosley will be wearing Crimson next year. I do not call many on here but I will go out on a limb with this one.

If he does oh well!!! We will get good recruits. Maybe not up to expectations so far. Look at what we have had to go through past month an a half. If we dont get top class this year ( should be top ten), Then next year will be better. (ALOT BETTER THAN PHIL HAD BEEN DOING)!!! GO VOLS!!!!!
