"I was just up there this weekend and I really loved it," George Uko, one of top defensive players in country said of his trip to Oregon in a text message to eDuck Sports. "Just amazing, I loved them so much. It's the only college I've really seen but still I was like, woooowow, you know?"

The only college he has seen ? This is not really news we should be worried about. He sounds like he has plans to visit many other schools.

George Uko is currently holding 11 scholarship offers and believes one from USC will be next, ESPN affiliate Web site DuckTerritory.com reports.

He said, "I have pretty much every offer I expected and I am thinking that an SC offer is coming soon. So no, I don't want to hear from anyone else. Oregon, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Cal and USC are the schools I will be choosing from."

Uko likes the atmosphere at Oregon, Oklahoma's winning ways, Tennessee's new coaching staff (especially Ed Orgeron and Monte Kiffin), Cal's education and location and USC's dominance.

Last season he registered 90 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and five sacks earning all-league and all-area recognition

pretty much a final 5. USC will be tough to beat if they offer...

Bennett deciding soon; Uko down to five - ESPN

Right now, my final five are Oregon, Cal, Tennessee, USC and Oklahoma.

I visited Oregon last weekend for their one day camp and loved it there. It was cool to work with the coaches and I loved the campus, the stadium and all the facilities. I'm going to try and take official visits to the other schools and can't wait to see Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Jeffcoat was the top defensive performer, but Uko was a close second. The defensive tackle had a very impressive day and his efforts produced a scholarship offer from the Trojans at the end of the day. He is a big kid (6-4, 299 pounds) with a bit of an odd build as he has good bulk but carries most of it in his upper body. On film, he impressed with his high energy style, but raised some concerns with some inconsistent and, at times, wild play. In person though he displayed the all the good you saw from him on film. In one-on-one drills he was extremely tough to handle. He exploded off the ball and was violent with his weapons. He displayed the ability to club and rip by blockers and showed good power. It was an impressive performance that may cause us to bump an already good grade.

A big kid with most of the bulk being in the upper body?

Don't be shocked to see several knee injuries in the future for this kid...ala Kevin Simon...

I'm not saying we shouldn't recruit him...it's just that with that kind of build there is severe stress on the ligaments of the knee

Kevin Simon had that problem...and he was 5'10" 230...at 6'4" 300 with that build Uko could be in for a rough future

Kid looks like a stud from film of USC camp. I don't know how much of a chance of landing this kid we have but I would love to see him here.

We really seem to be hitting California hard. I don't know how many usually leave the west coast to play in the SEC but I wouldn't think the # would be to high. ?

Ask Ray Lewis how much trouble he has with his chicken legs.

George Uko (Chino, Calif./Don Lugo) had a plan to take his official visits in the fall and then make a commitment sometime during the season. Those plans have changed and his decision will now come much sooner.

"I plan on committing in August now," Uko said. "I thénk I might still take my visits just for the experience but I have a good idea of where I want to go right now. My top five schools right now are Tennessee, Cal, Oklahoma, USC and Oregon."

Uko said he doesn't plan to narrow his list down to a final two or three but will just pick from his final five. He has yet to visit Oklahoma or Tennessee unofficially and said he doesn't plan to before making his decision so it appears the three Pac 10 schools could be in the drivers seat.

"I don't know about that but I guess you could kind of say that," Uko said. "I had a good time visiting all three schools and would fit in well at each of them. Like I said, I have one school in mind right now but I'm just going to sit on it for awhile and make sure I'm doing the right thing."

Uko had a big spring during which his stock sky rocketed. He had a standout showing at the SoCal NIKE Camp back in April and was dominant at team camps at UCLA and USC where both Pac 10 schools offered scholarships.

I dont blame a kid being interested in Oregon after a visit. They have some of the MOST impressive facilities of any school in the country. That being said, a kid will also want to win and play for a school that gives him the best chance of playing in the NFL too. That place ISNT Oregon.

Just saw on ESPNU ticker that Oku won't take visits and will announce in August...Tennessee was first on the list but idk if that means anything.

Hard to imagine him committing here without a visit, on top of visiting his area schools, USC being one of those.
