I agree with vols5790. This is our best shot with a elite LBer. Hicks said he favoring Texas, so we are already behind in that race. Although I have no doubt this staff can get him. Shirley has put us in the top 3, but that can change as he will make a decision later. Just right now i think we have a better shot a Shirley.

I doubt Tennessee has much of a shot at Hicks. His high school coach is a huge OSU fan and will push hard for them. Hicks favorite is obviously Texas but he'll be under a ton of pressure from the people in West Chester to go to OSU. Those will be his 2 finalists I bet.

Cincinnati isn't exactly OSU country...

I'm not saying we'll be the team to get Hicks, but we've had good success in Cincinnati and have a decent fanbase there.

Tennessee has a connection. One of Hick's h.s. coaches has a daughter at UT. The staff will need to get him on campus for a visit. We'll see where Tennessee stands after a visit.

Shirley's teammate just committed to USC, I found this interesting.

"Brown's teammate, four-star linebacker Josh Shirley, also holds a scholarship offer from USC. While favoring UCLA and Tennessee before the Rising Stars Camp, Shirley has begun reconsidering USC.

And everyone of them are from California. Must be nice to recruit in your back yard. Thing is, these guys will probably never see the field unless they move to another position.

I would say as things stand right now Shirley is still a long shot for Tennessee.
I just dont see him going anywhere but UCLA or USC in the end.

Cincinnati will never be OSU country but Larry Cox the head coach at Lakota West is a huge OSU blowhard and he does tend to push his kids in that direction.

Hicks favorite school since he was a kid has been Texas but he is under immense pressure by some adults who are trying to throw their influence into his recruitment to go to OSU.

Unfortunately, I don't plan on interviewing him any time soon, I got a lot of people to call (Lache Seastrunk, Shakim Phillips, Anthony Barr, Michael Dyer, etc etc etc). I wouldn't be surprised if Prehm does though, he seems to be better connected on the West Coast than myself.
