'10 CA QB Brett Nottingham

Nottingham has made some nice strides since he attended the camp last year. He's incredibly smooth with an effortless delivery. Nottingham doesn't have a huge arm, but has more than enough arm strength and throws a very nice deep ball. He threw the skinny post very well and was one of the most accurate quarterbacks of the day. Nottingham has seen a nice bump in his recruitment recently and is easily among the top signal callers in the West region this year.

some throws he makes look beautiful and some lack zip but that can change in the weight room. He really throws that skinny post in the end zone on the money each time in his youtube video. I would say lack of exposure is why he has not got as many offers yet; but that will change as soon as he starts camping.

I still really like this guy. I don't know what the news are on him, but I like his size, his 69% completion, his stats, and the fact that all of his snaps are basically under center. That's a nice thing. I am hoping we give him some attention. I don't know if he would be a starter, probably not, but I feel like we should at least look into him.

Going into the Spring, he was supposed to be the best QB in Cali. Now Scroggins has shown up and stolen his thunder. I think he will end up at UCLA...

according to who?

Pete Thomas, Nick Montana, Chase Rettig and Bryan Bennett were all being mentioned in 2008 as guys to watch in the 2010 California quarterback class.

Going into March of this year, Nottingham was a zero star QB at Rivals, without a single article on him. Same thing for Scout, no pub on him till March of this year.

he hasn't gotten a whole lot of exposure at all. But if you look on the youtube video on the first page, the kid looks good. It's surprising more hasn't been said on him.

I read it somewhere man. Give me a few minutes, I will find it...

Ok, I read 3 different stories on Scout. I was wrong about the best in Cali though. One of the articles had him as the best QB in Northern Cali and Scroggins as the QB in Southern Cali. That wasn't too long ago...
Then there were 2 lists on Scout of the Best QBs in Cali and The Best QBs in the West from February. Nottingham was 4th in Cali behind Pete Thomas, Montana, and some other guy. He was 5th best in the West behind Heaps and those 3 Cali QBs, but he was ahead of Hinder...

do I really need some circuitous denial that you got your facts badly crossed?:popcorn:

your entire previous assessment was wrong. you implied Nottingham had floundered all spring and fallen off some pedestal, which he never was on to begin with.

he has raised his stock this spring, whereas your previous commentary would suggest the complete opposite---that his stock had plummeted, when it has instead risen.

you goofed. it happens. I do it, we all do it. there's a lot of names, faces, states and schools to keep up with. people are going to get confused. :ill_h4h:

I just think it's funny to see this drawn-out explanation on how you were off on one article, when the entire assessment missed badly. :zeitung_lesen:

I said I was wrong. I haven't read that stuff in a while. He was listed as the best QB in Northern Cali...

I did not imply anything about Nottingham "floundering." Look at my previous posts on this thread. He has tore it up at camps. Your twisting my words...

And your assessment was wrong as well. Rettig and Bennett were both behind Nottingham on the Cali QB list...

Stop being a douche...

these were your words, it sounds to me like you clearly suggested he had failed to meet expectations which were unfair, since no one had ever raised the bar that high for him----

I didn't twist your words, you made a poor assessment and I said you were confused on the issue. You don't need to go into a panic that your e-cred will be tarnished.

And your assessment was wrong as well. Rettig and Bennett were both behind Nottingham on the Cali QB list...

once again according to who? those two were getting pub in 2008 and Nottingham wasn't being mentioned until March 2009 when his profile started getting updated. going into spring, Nottingham had no share of the ink.

Stop being a douche...

I don't remember picking at you before, but talking to me like a smart-mouthed child may change that. I don't like angry children who pout and hiss.

Please see your previous post of calling me out for no reason. I admitted to the mistake, and you acted like a smart mouthed kid...

IMO he ends up at OSU, its just a matter of time. I like him as a QB, but i just dont see us with that much of a shot really.

He's still got to be #3 IMO, until he's off the board. I like Rettig, and the coaches may like him better than Hendrix after seeing him in person and evaluating the film -- I don't know. But my guess on their board right this second would be
Scroggins
Brunetti
Hendrix
Rettig
Rees

Based on what? Just because OSU offered? I am not a big fan of Hendrix, but I think we are up on his list and have a great shot at getting him.

I agree with almost all of that but, I still think that Munchie should have the #5 spot.
