'10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins (USC Solid Verbal)

Which school will Scroggins verbally commit to tomorrow?

here is my theory: Scroggins is a done deal with UT and has been for a long time.

here is why: Kiffin has a good relationship with Pete Carroll/SC and I think he is helping Lane by supposedly battling Lane for Scroggins. the exposure is priceless and this has helped to propell Kiffin and UT even further into the national spotlight as "the school" to go to by battling the Trojans and PC head to head in recruiting Scroggins. think about it unless its the NCG, we are no real threat to SC as far as distance and conference play goes. yes we will compete for home grown CA talent but its not that relavant this year. obviously Scroggins is good enough to earn an offer from Florida but he could, but doesnt want to be a spread QB. UF being in the mix is just a smokescreen.

I am telling you Scroggins is a Vol. book it. There are already 5 QB's at SC. 3 scholly QB's on the roster: Barkley, Corp, & Mustain, and two walk-ons: Green and Manoogian. Its Corp's spot to loose and Barkley will be challenging. The cupboard is full. Scroggins would just get red-shirted and would be a back-up for 3 years and likely not play a down for at least 3-4 years. he knows this. and its not like SC wont be signing a top 5 QB next year, and the next year, and so on. UT is his best option. it just makes sense.

If the taped announcement is being aired on College Football Live, wouldn't it be at 3:30, not 3:00? The show normally airs at 3:30.

One thing is for sure: this will be the longest thread for any recruit that will not be wearing orange. Are we now going to have 10,000 post threads for every 5-Star we dream of having? :crazy:

It doesnt add up to a USC commit, all the hype building, all the speculation, his status on myspace, him wanting to bring elite recruits with him to the school he chooses, it just doesnt say USC to me.

IMO USC is the safe pick, and we are the sexy pick. That might sound odd, but think about it, if he picks USC, people will discuss it for a week or so, but then itll die down and we'll move on to the next big recruit to commit. But if he picks UT, people will be talking about this all the way till NSD.

I just cant give him up yet, not until he puts the crimson and gold hat on...

the guy is going to usc. bad for him because after acouple of years he will have to transfer if he really wants to play anything else except a backup.

He is just saying all the things you expect a qb to say, everything has been cliche with him. His parents cannot afford to watch him play here, that seems like it is very important to him.

I may be wrong but it really does look like it will be USC. Even if commits to us tomorrow I doubt his commitment would hold until NSD.

He is ALL VOL. I've been saying it from the beginning. Tomorrow, when he puts the orange and white on, don't nobody come on here saying they told you so. Crunchimus Maximus (other wise known as "The Prophet), Sab, myself, and a few others will be right tomorrow. Jesse Scroggins will be a Vol. I say this because if he picks Florida....Ed Orgeron will eat him.

It makes sense, believe me that should make sense. The problem is that this is an 18 year old kid - a football player at that - making a decision. One who's been in the limelight for the past year as well...
