If that footage is of him, then its from when he was in middle school. We had this discussion a month ago. That kid ran like a 57 or 58, which is pretty unspectacular. That same kid competed in the 100m dash...wasn't impressive...at all. I coach track...have a 13 year old girl who ran that 100 faster.

I heard we had a chance with after all? any news?
.
"I'm going to visit during the UCLA game," Bray said. "I hear they have a huge stadium. It's going to be crazy to feel the atmosphere of the fans. I'm sure it's going to be crazy. I'll get to see how Tennessee actually is."

"I don't know yet," Bray said. "I'm talking it over. I'll probably make my final decision on signing day."

I believe Bray will wait and make his final decision on signing day about as much as I believe I will be the next President of the United States. I'm not buying it. Why would a guy that has already committed to San Diego St. wait until NSD to commit to a big school like UT? He didn't wait before, and please, it was San Diego St. The only way I could see him waiting until then is if he did a silent commit to a school and then on NSD signs with a different school like Nuke did. However, that will not work at UT more than likely because we need the exposure. Now, if we continue to recruit like we are and land the receivers that we are anyways, and get a some OL guys, then maybe. I still say if he comes to UT for his visit and falls in love with it, this kid will commit before October, unless distance is a factor.

I agree, I just don't think that UT will wait that long for a QB commit. I think we will have someone commited by October. IMO

Bray will come and see us at the UCLA game and get a real good feel for what it will be like here. He probably won't commit because a think he's trying to see if interest for himself will pick up more. I don't think he'll wait till NSD but will be a late de-commit and go to the highest bidder. UT won't wait that long since we have a shot at Newton and are still in with Rettig.

My thought as well. Based on their early-season performance, one of the 3* QBs, such as Tyler Shreve or Turner Baty, may earn an offer. Or, as has been mentioned, Rees could change his mind. Lots of variables out there.

Not saying that a spot would not be available at UT if Bray waited to NSD. But, I suspect we would be back to the original plan of taking two QBs in this class.

Everyone buy Bray drinks during his visit. Keep him up all night drinking and in the morning have him call Lane and offer a solid verbal. :whistling:

Waiting for a quarterback in this class really does suck. Why don't quarterbacks see it? If Tennessee lands one of the better quarterbacks.... the dominoes will fall. They've managed some awesome pick ups without a quarterback for the future. Should be like shooting fish in a barrel if they can get that quarterback. Let's just continue doing this in reverse if that's what it takes. Oku, Brown. Nu'keese, Ambles, Milton... come on Robinson and Stone. Join Mr. Fulton up front. Show me a quarterback that doesn't want to play with that group and I'll show you someone who is going to make terrible decisions come gameday. :wink2:

This was reported by Tom Luginbill yesterday on Birmingham Sports Talk radio (so, sorry if it was posted here yesterday...). They were talking about the upcoming class of QB's, and Luginbill explained what we already know- limited number of top quality QB's in the upcoming class. He said there were 6 or so who fit the bill. He said there was a group of 8 on the next level- guys who would all have to redshirt and be invested in. But, in his opinion, he said that Tyler Bray would be the best of the bunch and that his best comparison for Bray was Matt Leinart. He went on to say that BRay will not stick at SDSU, but that he would most likely land at UT.

Don't misunderstand, Bray will not step onto campus and be Leinart, but after a redshirt year and as much development as Kiffin and company can invest, the thought is that Bray could develop into a player with Leinart's skills. Luginbill said Bray would definitely be a big time player for a BCS conference school.

The funny thing about your footer/signature is that you are actually calling Eric Berry retarded.

There is probably about 0% chance this kid doesnt switch his commitment from SDSU to SOMEWHERE before NSD. If he likes his visit to UT, and UCLA doesnt offer him....he better commit before Newton does. I wouldnt think we would pull both.

Saw him play in the central valley section championship last Dec. My Chowchilla Redskins beat him up pretty bad - 20-0 for the championship. Couldn't lay it on him. He stood in there and took shot after shot. His receivers dropped a lot of balls.

His vids looked great. Skinny bean pole and he's a little slow. His passes looked like laser beams. GET THIS KID

i would love to get bray over anybody else right now since all are other qb targets committed elsewhere. kid seems like a stud and seems to have a bright future especially at tennessee haha. if he has a good atitude bout football and tries hard though . if we cannot pull brunetti i hope we get newton if he has a good year this year and the staff feels like they should offer and bray. but if another qb pops out of the radar his senior year and is really good and our staff likes him i would rather take bray and that kid instead of newton. just hope bray pulls the trigger after the ucla game and doesnt wait till signing day like he says he is which i dont think he will though. i know the kid wants more offers and attention and thats why he says he will wait that long probably but in a way it seems kind of cocky to me. i mean if a school that you really like is on you early like tennessee is the first big school to offer than why wait kinda like rettig did cuz im pretty sure he would much rather go to tennessee than san diego st. but at the same time im just a tennessee fan talking and if i was him i might i might want to get more offers to and get other options to look at

Are QB camps done? I am assuming that they are and that kids are getting ready for games at their high school.

There had been talk of Tennessee getting involved with (Cameron) Newton, especially because he is good friends with Vols wide receiver commitment Markeith Ambles, but the Vols want California quarterback Tyler Bray first and foremost.

Bray, a San Diego State commitment, will visit Tennessee on the weekend of Sept. 11 and is getting the full-court press from Lane Kiffin and his staff. If Tennessee can land Bray, they will have the quarterback they desperately need in this class and a prospect who is a perfect fit for Kiffin's offense. If not, they could try to get involved with Newton, but by that time, it could be too late.

We are putting our eggs into the Tyler Bray basket once again and kicking Cam Newton to the curb. The QB saga starts again. Let's get em this time staff!

This kid seems great, but how is the battle for Chase Rettig over?? Surely we can sway that kid from boston freakin college.

I know that Rettig had some hype there for a little while, but honestly it seems that Tyler Bray has really the type of frame and size that we need for our type of O. He has some killer accuracy. His downside include his weight which can be fixed with a proper conditioning program and foot speed which can be improved upon.

If he has a great senior season like he is suppose to then this kid will be near the top of the QB list. Recruiters are expecting great things from him. He went out in the Elite 11 and absolutely tore it up apparently, and really came out of no where. He outperformed many of star recruits ranked way ahead of him, including JS.

The coaches were never completely sold on Rettig from what I heard.
