When watching him run and pick and dart his way through the initial traffic -- you forget he's 6-foot-4, 230-pounds with the good fluidity and sharp change-of-direction skill he demonstrates. Tall, very well-built and put-together. As a running back, he will press the hole at full speed but has the rare ability at his size to decisively hit the cutback and cut laterally without gearing down much. Displays very good body control and hip-fluidity for his size. Really a load to take down at the high school level when he plants and accelerates downhill with good shoulder lean. Breaks a lot of initial tackles and makes a smaller defensive back think twice about coming up to tackle him high. However, his longer lower-body and tall frame in general really opens himself up for big hits and makes him susceptible to getting tripped up. Despite seldom giving defenders a clean shot with his smooth hips.

Kids a load. Would be an excellent power compliment to Bryce Brown and David Oku, ala Reggie Bush and LenDale White. Reminds me of Brandon Jacobs, whom Gran coached at Auburn before he transferred.

He was on multiple lists in the fall as one to watch for next year's class and as an athlete, he's a potential 5* prospect. That being said, I think it's unlikely UT's ever much of a player with him or that he plays RB in college.

Barr did acknowledge, though, that a few schools have been more active in his recruitment. “I wouldn’t call them aggressive, but more active and recruiting me the hardest,” said Barr. “Those are Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, Tennessee, Cal and USC. But, like I said, I’m considering all the offers I have.”

Barr said he’s built a good rapport with the coaching staffs at those six schools.

Man among Boys, he gets his pads low for someone that's 6'4. Definitely, someone we need to compliment our backfield.

"The most active schools so far have been schools like Notre Dame, UCLA, Stanford, Tennessee, Cal and USC," Barr said. "I'm still considering everybody, but those are the ones that have been pursuing me the most aggressively. I've really enjoyed getting to know the coaches that I've been talking to."

I really like him. He really reminds me of a Brandon Jacobs type back. Very tall and powerful.

If i had to compare I would say Eddie George more than Jacobs, but I really haven't seen a RB exactly like him. Most kids with his build play WR but he would be a nice pickup wherever they put him.

On Scout he is listed as an ATH. Looks more like a RB to me.

"Right now it's what I think I do best. But I think I can excel on defense if that's what's best for me and the team. This year on offense I'm going to play running back again and on defense it could be safety, linebacker or defensive end."

From Rivals... The D may be where he lines up in college...

Right now he's my favorite RB. Right there with him is Dyer. Either would be great additions. We have enough defensive players IMO. Every thread i about a DT or DE. RB isn't a great need, but if we were to offer one it would be Dyer or Barr.

Eddie George yea, but I see Eric Dickerson. The height for one, the power running and high knee running style. We would be crazy not to recruit him as a RB.

I would be very happy with Eric Dickerson part Deaux. For real.

He's the height and almost the weight ED played at SMU when he won the Heisman. I'd love to get him. I know we have plenty backs now, but competition will breed success.
