'10 CA S Dietrich Riley

Yea this is a sign that Meyer is losing someone, not sure if we are going to benefit from it but it would be nice to land Elam and Riley and really piss ole Urban off.

Riley's Top 2 are Tennessee and USC. It is going to be very tough for another school to come in and beat out those 2 schools. My guess is if anyone does it, it's going to be UCLA where the kid simply decides to stay out on the coast.

From what Riley has said, he plans on playing in the South. I think that's an indicator of which way he has been leaning. I really think Ambles has influenced this one in a positive way. Florida already has two safeties committed and they are stacked already at the position. It's odd that they offered Riley out of the blue.

This is from ESPN:

"I heard the game atmosphere at Tennessee is crazy and that's what I'm most looking forward to seeing," Riley said. "They produce great defensive backs at UT as well and they have a great tradition. Football is a religion there and I know I'll have a great time out there."

Before the offer from the Gators rolled in, Riley was planning to use his final two official visits on UCLA and Washington. Now he's not sure what he'll be doing.

"I really don't know to be honest," Riley said. "I'll just have one visit open if I trip to Florida. I know I want to visit Florida, Josh (Shaw) loved his visit out there and we want to play together in college.

"He loved Ohio State too but they never recruited me so who knows, if I like it at Florida, maybe that will be a possibility. I'm just going to be patient and play things by ear. I can always take some unofficial visits if I need to so I'm not really worried about it."

I agree, I can't see how Riley would get an offer from the Gators and just immediately thrust them into his Top 2. I think if he feels comfortable here on his visit we will lead for his services. USC still picked up Bailey, and Florida, even if they were to lose Elam, has a few good DB's still committed in this class. We've yet to specifically target the secondary in our recruiting (some athletes may project there) so it's a good chance for him to get playing time here A.B. (After Berry).

Specifically you are right, but Meline just got through saying we are recruiting him to play corner and he prefers to play on defense. I think it's likely that's where he ends up.

If we make a good impression on him tomorrow what are the chances he commits? I dont see him going to Fla. Other than us and Fla are any other schools in the South after him?
