Wide Receiver
Ocala (FL) Trinity Catholic
Ht: 6-foot-1
Wt: 190 lbs
Class: 2010 (High School)
"I'm up to about 20 offers," the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Boone said. "I haven't counted them recently, but that's about right. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, Texas Tech, Tennessee and a bunch more schools have offered.""Academics, that's going to be No. 1," he said. "Number two, a good coaching staff. And No. 3, somewhere I can fit in. Somewhere I can go and learn the system and get some experience my freshman year. I can just learn the offense and maybe by the second or third game of the season I can get rotated into the offense and maybe become a starter. Those are the big things that I'm really looking at."

I think we could offer all those, Academics sure, Good coaching staff of course, Somewhere he could fit in he should, and some where he could get early playing time. It all right at UT baby!

Wide receivers This was a good group. The leader clearly was Kadron Boone (Ocala, Fla. / Trinity Catholic). The Under Armour All-American was impressive in build with good height and a thick frame for a receiver. He displayed good straight-line speed and soft hands that were able to pluck the ball out of the air. After seeing him in action and on film, it is no surprise that he is a highly coveted prospect at the wide receiver position.

Another take:

A trio of wide receivers that are receiving high interest from some of the elite schools in the Southeast and across the country showed why. Kenny Shaw (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips), Kadron Boone (Ocala, Fla./Trinity Catholic) and Sean Tapley (Jacksonville, Fla./Raines) consistently performed at a high level during one-on-ones and all three lived up to expectations.

Hard to pull this kid away from UF. His coach is an ex-Gator. His coaches son is the current backup to Tebow and will be the starting QB for UF when Boone would be a freshman. The kid lives 45 minutes from UF campus so it would real easy for mom and dad to see him play.

Can you get him? Sure, anything is possible. But this one is real unlikely.

Nu'keese Richardson ring a bell...:)

You guys crack me up with the Nuke / Teague business.

The only reason Nuke went away is because we recruited a better guy in his class by the name of Andre Debose. Although it is a credit to UT, that you were the ones there to pick him up.

As far as Teague is concerned, he's a Tennessee kid who was committed to UT in the first. He took a short vacation into the UF camp and then came back to UT. Again, good work that you got him back.

Finally, there was a 2009 recruit that UT had committed and then lost to UF. A JUCO 295 lb DT who does 35 reps at 225 and runs a 4.7 40. His name is Edwin Herbert. That's a guy who would have fit nicely into your DL depth chart. You probably wouldn't recognize his name.

All in all, I think we're pretty close to a push. But you guys make a lot of noise about it.

You know the old saying..."when you get to the end zone, make believe you've been there before."

Teague never committed to UT prior to UF. He wasn't even considered a lean. And anyone here that follows recruiting knows of Herbert. That's far from a push, friend.

Nuke and Teague >>>>> JUCO Herbert

But, if it makes you feel better to think otherwise, then hats off to you. :hi:

Uh. We had two months of recruiting and stole 2 recruits from you, and some others from Bama and LSU.

Which pair is more valuable?

A) Nuke & Teague OR
B) Debose & Herbert

I guess I'm a Gator fan and it's hard for me to not pick B. Which pair would you rather have?

That has to be the most asinine question I have seen on this board. And btw I would pick A.

I would take our '09 class above your '09 class any day. That is the answer to your question.

Debose wasn't stolen from another school like the others you mentioned how is he related? If you're gonna pull that I could just name Bryce Brown and Nukeese.

You're right, Debose wasn't stolen and that's the flaw in your evaluation. You only look at the decommits but don't bother to understand why they left.

Nuke left because we signed Debose. Period. That you were there to grab him is to your credit. So from a UF perspective, the entire situation that resulted in Nuke leaving was a win for us. We would rather have kept him, but it was wise for Nuke to move on.

The same thing happened in 2006 when Jevan Snead was a Gator commit. We got Tebow to commit and Snead decommitted (wisely) and signed with Texas (not so wise).

Is the moral of the story that Texas got the better of UF because they signed "stole" our decommit? Hardly. I don't think you believe that either.

At the end of the day, Snead wound up being a valuable player at Ole Miss.

Nuke is a good pickup for UT. If we knew that we would lose him due to signing Debose, there would have been no hesitation.

UT's win doesn't have to be UF's loss. Life is not a zero sum game.

That's ridiculous. We got two top flight running backs in this class. No reason UF couldn't hold onto 2 similar WR, other than the fact that they were out-recruited for one.

:no:Actually Not. But believe what you want to.

I understand your point but I think you went in a different direction from where I was going. I was only responding to the comparison of two pairs of players of which Debose was the odd one out as far as changing schools:eek:k:

OK, so why did Nuke decommit from UF?

What was better about the UT situation other than less competition for early PT?

He has said repeatedly that it just felt like home. Basically we just did a better job recruiting him. UF tried like hell up to the last second to hold on to him and couldn't.

Well, absolute certainty about the truth will probably elude us. Nuke's new activity with his recruitment coincided eerily with the committment of Debose. He was an early and happy committment and was actually one of those kids who tried to recruit other kids to the program. Not the picture of a kid who didn't feel at home.

It's hard to take Nuke's statements as being definitive. If he left because he didn't think there was a good chance of earning playing time, would you expect him to come out and say that? Of course not...no one is going to say that they don't think they can compete.

Go back to the earlier example with Jevan Snead and Tebow. Do you think that Snead decomitted because he suddenly felt that Texas was the place he felt more at home?

He just wanted to play. That's what they all want.
