We are hitting the Atlanta and South Florida areas really hard. A ton of talent in those two areas and Kiffin knows it. I really like Kiffin's plan regarding to his recruiting strategy.

any new info on this guy?I saw this on scout..Tennessee jumped on Garrison Smith as soon as they saw his film like many other programs. His film got out in late January and he is now closing in on 20 scholarship offers. The defensive lineman visited UT over the weekend and he liked what he saw.

Article from the 21st really makes it sound like he's a Georgia lean.

here Georgia is with me."

Although Smith did not tell UGASports that he has committed to the Bulldogs, the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Atlanta native said everything he saw about the Georgia program gave him plenty of reason to like the Dawgs.

"I loved it man. I got me all the coaches again and learn everything the school has to offer," Smith said. "I got to tour all the facilities, got to watch a good, high-intensity practice and it was great to see the players get after it. It got really crunk out there."

Smith on the Verge?

As far as commitments on the horizon, defensive end Garrison Smith from Douglass High School in Atlanta is well worth watching.

This was a quote in a GVX article today about Heaps. For some reason, Hooker just throws this paragraph in the middle of the article without any further explanation. I really hope it's true. This kid looks like a stud. A 4 star DE and the #74 player overall. Here's the link to the article...

I figured but still. You figure thats something that would be correct in an article.

I really really doubt we get him though.

I don't know where he's getting his info. He usually steals it from Rivals, but I was under the impression Smith was a UGA lean.

The GA people are confident they get Smith. I would not be surprised to land Smith, but I've heard nothing publicly to suggest we're his current leaders.

yeah i was reading that article and wondering who the hell these guys were. at least check there names. anyway, i have conjectured that he messed up again, and was in fact referring to jacques smith. so good call hooker, i think we have a good shot at him, too.

He did mention Garrison's high school though...

"The first team to offer me was Auburn. It was during the season. Then I kind of lost contact with the new staff. Georgia and other schools came hard at me after that."

"I like all the schools and I am just wide open. To be honest with you, me and my family are just flabbergasted. We like them all."

So far Smith has had the chance to visit Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee. He hopes to see some others soon.

"I am trying to get to a lot of schools but it's been hard. My parents work. I work. So I will see what I can do."

From Rivals... He seems like a really good kid...
