I'm not sure if Nigel and him are related, but it would seem they probably are. We have offered.

If you read Meat Market, Orgeron's ideal measurements for a DT are:

6'2
285
4.8 second 40

I doubt he truly runs a 4.8, but that's about as close as you get to an Orgeron DT.

"I put together a top eight, but it's not in stone so I'm not ready to put that out, yet. But Auburn is definitely in the top three," he said. "I don't want to say the other two right now. Anything could change, but Auburn is definitely in there and that won't change. Auburn will definitely be in the mix."

"I'm going to try and wait until at least mid-season so I can make a good decision, a commitment I can stick with, feel good about," he said. "I'm trying to get to Clemson, Tennessee, South Carolina and Auburn after the fourth of July. I don't know any dates, yet, but I know the visits will be after the fourth."

As a junior, Thornton, rated by Rivals.com as the No. 40 DT prospect in the country, racked up 95 tackles and four sacks.

Heading into fall camp at most colleges, Thornton plans to hit the local schools first and then any other schools further out after that.

"I am trying to get to all the schools in my surrounding area as soon as possible," Thornton said. "Hopefully I can get up to Clemson and Tennessee in the next couple of weeks. I really like those two from an outside view, but I want to see what is going on up there."

This is one of the guys Kiffin and Orgeron went to see tonight. He is the perfect build for a DT according to Orgeron. I really didn't think we was this good. I thought he was just a 3star. He's actually a 4star, the #10 DT, and the #164 overall player in the country...

And look at that offer list. You won't find many offer lists better than that...

On Friday night, Thornton was treated to a helicopter spectacle from Tennessee coaches Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron. The two coaches landed to check out Thornton and some other players during the MLK-Stephenson game. The stunt impressed Thornton a lot.

"That was my first time meeting coach Kiffin and if he likes to showoff like that I am down with it," Thornton said. "It was a good visit with them. I talk to Coach O all the time too."

]"It blew me away, you know," Thornton said. "We have a linebacker that goes to Tennessee [Nigel Mitchell-Thornton], so it would be nice for me to get up there and play on the team with him. I am going to give them a look. I am going to give Tennessee a look."
