'10 GA RB Rajion Neal

9, PressVol, because two early enrollees count towards last year's class. And yes. As long as we have 9 guys that enroll at midterm, we could count all 9 back to this class and still sign an additional 28 -- 25 enrolled.

Those spots would be better used on OL or DL or saved for next year. Signing two backs this year means that there would be 6 running backs on roster next year. Tauren Poole will just be a junior. Oku, Brown, Williams - sophomores and the other two - freshman. You really cut your leg's off in trying to sign a top back for next year's class if you do that.

I think it would be unwise.

Tony Williams will still be a freshman, right?

I prefer Neal, by a lot. I guess we could maybe take Bennett as a LB depending on how the rest of the class shakes out. I agree with Sab though, take Neal and shift focus to the trenches.

From what I've seen on film, I think Neal makes the most sense in terms of what we have already and what he brings to the mix.

Neal is the same size as Bennett but likely has less room to grow, but he's a couple of steps quicker. He's more versatile than Bennett IMO.

I have been confused all along on the numbers. I thought that you can sign 25 with 3 Place and 2 backcount. Per Class.

If we signed 18 this year that would leave 9 left of 27. Can u sign that 9 + 2725 next year???

I do understand the reason to sign just the one back. Because of next years ability to sign one due tp the depth chart....

I think Williams will be a RS-Freshman.

I think our backcount number is 2 this year only because we enrolled 23 last year, towards a 25 max.

If we enroll our current 19 (-2 backcounts = 17) that would leave us 8 (as long as they EE next year) to backcount + our alloted 25 for 2011 for a total of 33.

That's right. He redshirted. My bad.

Very well done.

:good!: Exactly right. Most people are assuming there is a rule about backcounting only 2 since that is what we had this year, but you have it perfect. It is really pretty simple to understand though. Maybe some of these guys will see your model and be able to understand/retain the info. :eek:k:

I was expecting Neal to commit this weekend. I am not as sure as I was, now that he has left campus without committing.

Believe it or not, many prospects do not commit right on the spot after visiting. He probably wants to talk with the family about his decision. Plus, he is committed to Mississippi State. So if he is switching his commitment to UT, then he would hopefully let them know first. Patience is a good thing.

Cool!! Do u have an opinion on him???

I think he would be a great pickup. I am pretty sure having a full stable at running back is crucial to winning games. Also, UT is much more attractive of a school than Miss state imo. Give it some time and hopefully we will hear some good news about him. But hey I am happy now that Stanley committed!

I really want this guy. I think he will be outstanding paired up with the other backs we have. We can spread the carries out and never have a winded back. I just love the idea.

I have scanned all boards and it is really quiet on Neal. Is that good or bad. He is a MSU commit ya know..

He would be a nice pick up for the Big Orange but RB is not a desperate need..
