Fulton has a brother that just graduated from Illinois, now Bucs player Xavier Fulton. Most tend to think up on there site he is an Illini lock, and they have good reason to believe so because his brother was a 2 year starter for the Illini. Could end up in the SEC, most likely at UT.. but this kid is gunna be tough to pry from the Illini.. They are definately the team to beat. He will be at their Nike camp next weekend and that is not good news.
"It's very exciting. That was the main reason I came to camp," said Fulton, whose older brother, Xavier Fulton, is a rookie offensive lineman drafted in April in the fifth round by the Tampa Bay Bucs. "That was my ultimate goal for (Monday) and I achieved that so I was excited. Tennessee is in my top five for sure."
I don't think they are the team to beat necessarily. X is no longer there. Zook can recruit though so we'll see.
“Zach will visit Tennessee again the 27th,” said Glen Fulton, Zach's dad. “His mom wants to see the campus, so we're going to do the campus tour. Hopefully, she's comfortable with everything down there because we're very excited with Tennessee.”
Asked about his timetable for committing, he replied: “I'm not sure ... but soon.”
"Coach Kiffin was telling how they could really use me, how he really liked my footwork and my performance in the drills. Then he said, 'Because of that, we're going to offer you a full ride.'” Now, pending his mother's approval, Zach Fulton may be on the verge of accepting that offer.
Awesome news, check my article i posted.. Tells purdue hes not looking to commit til close to signing day, and in that article it says soon. Obvious what this kid wants.
Very strange that Rivals and Scout have conflicting stories. I realize that was to a Purdue reporter, but that whole interview seems to directly conflict with what we are hearing from Scout. If Scout gets this right, I'll be impressed if not amazed.
Randy Moore was the writer for the Scout story. He posted it at 10:40 and said he had just talked with Fulton just a little earlier. In the Purdue story it doesn't seem like he even had plans to come back to UT at all. It sounds as if they have talked to the Vol coaches (after talking with the Purdue guy) and made plans to come back to Rocky Top on the 27th. Moore also said in the thread that the way Fulton and his dad were talking, he looked for Zach to leave Knoxville a Vol...
I wonder if Mr. Fulton was one of the parents that were interviewed regarding how awesome the camp was?
I look forward to hearing more stories like this in the future regarding recruits and their recruitment. Awesome news!
MVP awards are becoming the norm for Homewood-Flossmoor offensive lineman Zach Fulton. After earning the honor at the University of Tennessee's prospect camp last week, Fulton won top honors at the University of Illinois. Coincidentally, those two programs are fighting for his commitment. Fulton said he would like to make his choice by the end of the month.
"Illinois and Tennessee, that is about it," Fulton said when asked which schools are in the hunt for his commitment. "Illinois because I have been here a long time. I am real cool with every body. They are a part of my family. When I went to Tennessee, I felt that's the best place to get better. I would get to play for Monte Kiffin. He is one of the best minds on the defensive side of the ball."
