Thought he was gonna be a Bama lock; would be an amazing get for out team.

His style of play is a def. must have but to also get him away from Bama...
they already have Milner and Kirkpatrick from last yr. Geeeeez we need this pull

Yeah dude is so physical, and I think we lead for D Wright, and maybe if we could get T Rex it would be a very sick secondary class IMO.

He was never a Bama lock, so I do not know where that came from. They are two ahead of him on the board. We did offer him, but M Harris and J fulton were the top two. The bad part was though Fulton will probably end up at USCe so this kid would have been a good option for us.

Wherever he ends up he will be a playmaker.

Menzie would be a huge pickup.

He is easily the best JUCO CB prospect in the last 3-4 years. Good sized kid, extremely strong and physical and has great intangibles.

I figured he was a longshot but landing him would be unbelievable.

The Top 3 overall JUCO's this year IMO are far and away Thompkins, Menzie and Brice Schwab.

Rivals has Thompkins the 9th best JUCO and Menzie the 23rd best JUCO. Also, Rivals has 3 JUCO DBs ahead of Menzie this year. What is so different between what you're seeing and what they're seeing?

I don't think Fulton affected him a whole lot. They don't even play the same position. The way I took it, ya'll were wanting a JUCO and Harris was your first choice. If you woulda missed on him, you woulda took Menzie.

I would take Thompson over in JUCO player not named John Cullen cuz of our need on the OL. Just compare his film to Ransom's. I'll take Thompkins over him all day...

I dont really care what Rivals ranks JUCO's. They dont spend much time evaluating their JUCO's.

There is no way Ransom is a better WR prospect than Thompkins and I think they actually have Ransom their #1 overall JC player. Laughable.

“That may be my last visit,” Menzie said. “I may not take anymore visits after that one.”

“Everything about Tennessee was perfect,” Menzie explained. “It was such a great experience. I will be honest I didn’t think I would get out of there without committing, but I had promised my mom I would stop and think about it before making a final decision.”

“I will probably make a decision by Thursday,” Menzie said. “I really think that Tennessee will be my permanent home.”

“Tennessee is recruiting me to play corner,” Menzie said. “Tennessee was way better than I expected it to be.”

“Eric Berry and I hung out a lot,” Menzie said. “He is such a great guy. We are so much a like personality wise. He is so calm, cool and collected. He is a fun guy to be around even if you’re just hanging out and talking.”

LV, I think we wanted Menzie, but was afraid to push for a commit from him with Harris basically coming on board, because we were concerned how it would affect Fulton's commitment. Even if we get Fulton I do not think he would start next year. Menzie and Harris both would start for us.

I would like to have Menzie, but you can get them all. He is an excellent player and Saban very rarely goes after a JUCO and offers him a scholly if they can not come in and start day one. Menzie was offered a scholly from us, so that tells you how high Saban was on him.

Didn't they have Kenny O'neil as the #1 Juco reciever? Now that's laughable.

The 2 deep with Vinson or Edwards. Might take Evans starting spot...

I'm not real impressed with Evans. Not a very solid tackler. I thought Edwards would end up taking his spot. I know the staff was high on him (Edwards) in fall camp. Vinson has been a disappointment.

Thanks Tidewarrior!

Dennis Rogan is playing incredibly well, so I would think Menzie would take the spot of Art Evans. Lots of guys want to be the next Eric Berry, and our next Eric Berry will not be a new guy as much as it will be Janzen Jackson. We also are still in it for Dixon, Cooper, a little in it for Riley or could use D Wright as a safety.

Brent vinson, I would love to hear Sab or LV talk about that guy...I love his athletic ability and I wish he could "get it" but he does not seem to thus far. If the light bulb ever came on for him he would be very special. Brent Vinson and Demetrice Morley with a Reveiz brain in their heads would both be first round NFL draft picks.

I haven't seen Vinson on the field the last two games. I still think Rogan could move to SS next year.

Vinson is right where he belongs, on the sidelines givin hi 5s as the defense comes off the field.
I think Im the only guy on VN who likes Art Evans. He is sickly fast and no he's not Antonie Winfield physical but he's where he is supposed to be. he is also very young. I wouldnt pencil in guys ahead of him just yet for next yr.

I like Art Evans too. He is a very good one-on-one cover guy. Yes he needs to improve on his tackling and I'm sure he will do that over the next few seasons, but he's a player with a lot of potential.

Sickly fast is not exactly how i would describe him. I do qgree with you on Vinson though.
