Before the departure of Wilson to LSU, it looked like Adams was set to sign with Tennessee on Dec. 16 - the first day junior college prospects could sign with a Division I school.
However, that day came and went without a signature from Adams, who ultimately balked at the opportunity to play tight end in Knoxville for the chance to play defensive end elsewhere.
"I really was (done) and they asked me if I wanted to play tight end and I really thought I would," said Adams, who played tight end as a freshman at Copiah-Lincoln. "But I decided I didn't want to play it anymore because I played defensive end the whole (2009) year and I started to like it better than tight end. I just feel more comfortable on defense and able to make big plays, running to the ball. That's where I feel more comfortable.
