10' LB Kevin Nelson "gators are twofaced"

He followed a few Canes commits in "disrespecting" UF at the event with the flashing of the U. I didn't see a problem with it but I'm not the one giving out the free rides. Tavadis Glenn got kicked out after the coaches warned but rumor is a UF coach saw Kevin also and soon after team pulled scholly or stop recruiting him. IMO it's an 17-18yr old kid that got his feelings hurt.

I always found it interesting that UF invited all of these "kids" that were committed to another school and then got their panties in a was when those "kids" repped the school they were committed to. Makes me wonder which side is the immature one.

Doubt it. Players give out gloves to fans after every game.

I'm not sure that is the best example. I mean, the Oregon head coach sent a refund to a fan for the Boise game, but had he sent money to a prospective player, that would clearly be a violation.

But nonetheless, I don't think giving gloves is a violation.

It sounds like your coaching staff are the one's who got their feelings hurt and decided to pull his offer because of it. Butt-hurt, I believe is the term I've heard posters on here use.

Not so much from a 3* LB when we're in running for Lb's like Luc, Hicks and Smith. He wasn't a Cane commit at the time so he made a butt of himself by following kids who had already given their commits to the Canes.

Case of sour grapes...kid is upset that he didn't get in locker room and he's REALLY upset that UF pulled his offer sometime after FNL because of HIS actions with Tavadis Glenn so not sure where he got his side of the story but if you don't have an UF offer why should you be allowed in the locker room?

Yea really... wow... I mean like for sure, if you aren't like a Knight of the Realm why should you be allowed to see the friggin round table...

Al hail King Urbie.. hail.. hail.. hail....

What a bunch of stuck up snobs... You folks are just ridiculous...

I hate Urban and the gators as much as anyone, but this doesn't seem wrong. Sounds like the kid is just a dude with a 'tude, and a whiner at that. His comments are somewhat pathetic.

I agree. I don't like UF but doesn't sound like they did much wrong here.

I could be wrong, but didn't Jimmy Clausen hang around our facilities after committing to Notre Dame and we didn't much like it. I think that this is pretty standard that when you commit to another school, you are now the enemy and no longer welcome. These kids need to realize that coaches are salesman and are selling the program to recruits and don't want other team's committments in their locker room. I would not let him in either.

This is a really strange case because the kid is from Gainesville. He was really angry when we never gave him a commitable offer. Often times at our games, we have a lot of local HS that sit in the recruit area behind the end zone. We extend curtsies to some of these kids because they are local even though we are not really interested at them this moment. Nelson was like a plan B type kid if we did not get who we really wanted or if a couple of commits fell through.

Yeah, but those fans havent been offered a free education by the University the player is repping, right? This is probably one of about a billion stupid, pointless gray areas NCAA rules have.....but I am sure some idiot ESPN or USA Today writer will pick it up and try to cause problems with it. Is a current player giving a recruit free gloves much different than a booster paying for a dinner??? I think they are both BS things for the NCAA to get involved in policing.....but it wouldnt surprise me AT ALL if that glove giving comment causes problems of some sort. That would be sad.

He did but he was never a problem...It was Chris Leak who was the problem...After he committed to UF he was seen hanging around with CJ on the sidelines and walking to the UT locker room with him and several of the players threatened him with bodily harm if he didn't leave the area.
