Actually, I heard that MSU is the favorite. There are pictures of him going to his prom with a Spartan hat on.

Gholston apparently recently attended prom, where he sported a Spartans cap to match a green tux. he denies that it's a hint and that his date picked the suit, so he needed a hat to match. he says a different-colored suit would have led to a different-colored hat.

speaking on Michigan State and Tennessee, though---

I like everything about the school and I really haven't seen anything negative. The really do have the family atmosphere. There's only two schools that I've visited that I've felt that way about (Michigan State and) Tennessee.

My buddy who is on the Meeeeeeeatchicken board says State is the lead right now. Still a lot of time, I think we make a legit run. I like our chances with him, I still feel he holds off to signing day.

If you remember back to when T. Pryor was being recruited, he wore all sorts of Michigan garb to places just like this. These kids arent dumb....they know this kind of stuff gets them attention....and is also probably funny to them to see people make a big deal out of it (like sports writers). If this kid doesnt go to OSU....I see him in Orange. I can tell you, my OSU fan friends up here are VERY worried about his interest in UT, mainly cause of our coaching staff. If he wants to be developed into a top 5 draft pick while winning games in a great environment....he pick us or OSU. I think it will be a dog fight.

"I am going to Ohio State's senior camp. I am doing something with Michigan State, I am doing something with Ohio State, doing something with Tennessee, and something with Alabama. I just decided I would do this stuff the other day. Florida may just be a visit, but I hope to be at one day camps at Ohio State, Tennessee, and Alabama's camp, which is three days."

Gholston said he is working to cut his list to nine schools.

"I know it is Michigan State, USC, Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, and Michigan right now. I am all for anybody else trying to get into the mix. I am not ruling anyone out. I am just trying to focus on getting it down to nine. If anybody can beat those nine teams, more power to them, I just have to get comfortable with the coaches."

Detroit (Mich.) Southeastern's William Gholston was the most physically imposing prospect at the event. He is 6 feet 7 and jacked. He is explosive off the ball, and has a very long reach, making him seem like a natural at defensive end. The one problem, he has been playing linebacker at Southeastern High School. Gholston had multiple impressive one-on-one reps, but it is clear he has more to learn from a technical standpoint as a pass rusher.

The Rivals100 prospect was physically the best-looking prospect at the camp. He is just learning to play the defensive end spot. In fact, he lost multiple reps in one-on-ones, but at 6-7, he has tremendous speed off the ball. Once William learns how to play with his hand down and use pass-rushing moves, he will be unstoppable.

Nobody passed the "look test" better than ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive end William Gholston. During a break in the action, Gholston said USC, Ohio State, Michigan State, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida were schools prominent on his list. However, the talk around Memorial Stadium on Saturday was that Gholston's decision could easily come down to the Buckeyes or Spartans.

“I’m not just going to put them at the top of my list or anything like that,” he said. “Don’t get me wrong, they’re a good school but there I’ve been talking to other schools longer. I have to evaluate them like I’ve evaluated everyone else.”

Per Scout on OSU... I think he is truly open to any school like Sentreal is...

Gholston likes Michigan State more than Ohio State and according to this article he didn't even have a relationship with his cousin Vernon, the former Buckeye, until recently.

Also, William may be in attendance this week at camp according to the same article.

I am not so upset about this one. I am no expert, but did anyone else think he made too many arm tackles? I just expected to see a guy with that size and speed to blow people up. He did make some impressive hits, but it looks like there was as many arm tackles. I expected more for a highlight video. Maybe I have been watching to many Jeff Luc highlights.......lol. He just looks like a kid that is physical more gifted than the rest of the athletes he is playing against. IMO he just does not look mean enough. I want guys like Luc who laugh at you after they just gave you snot bubbles.
