Why would his aunt call him to ask about James Cregg? Well - assuming the OP that started the rumor is a UT fan... she obviously saw James Cregg with UT gear on (I'd hope) and wanted to let her nephew know if he was a big UT fan and maybe asked what position he coached or whatever.
I don't see them sending James Cregg by himself after a big time recruit like this either unless they just wanted to gauge his possible interest. I know if I was the number 1 recruit in the country and CJC showed up, I would want to know where the Kiffs and CEO were. I think the part that is most telling is that he was going around talking about being a part of the greatest o line class. I just don't seem him committing on the spot because CJC showed up at school one day. I call bs.
He works with the O-line and they send people like James Cregg alone all the time to visit big time prospects. They have to do that - too many people to see and not enough time to have CLK and CEO on every 'big time' guy.
I'm pretty sure they would make time for the #1 OL not to mention #1 player in the country in a position of need. I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Well - I don' think you know what you're talking about.
Henderson has already told this staff thanks, but no thanks once. Why waste CLK's/CEO's valuable recruiting time when they can send Cregg to gauge any interest or see if they can stir things up a bit?
And I don't care if the kid is the #1 player in the class - CLK or CEO can't be there on every visit, but if there were any truth to these rumors you can bet one of them would be up there next time. Doesn't happen that way.
You just answered your own question. There is no reason to send Cregg back when he has already been told no thanks once. Believe the story if you want to, but it sounds like classic bs to me.
So, according to that logic, how do you reconcile that with CEO's repeated comments about not taking NO for an answer? You just answered your own question.
