'10 MN OL Seantrel Henderson

Urban preaches religion to momma and daddy, then has a willing co-ed waiting as soon as the parents leave that night. It's the perfect ruse.

A little bit of winning and a couple crystal footballs probably doesn't hurt the cause.

Florida has to be doing something illegal. I just don't get it.

Nothing illegal, just momentum. It's like a snowball rolling downhill. Get a couple of huge commitments at the same time (UA and AA games), and suddenly everybody wants to be a part of what could be a historic class... maybe greatest ever.

It doesn't hurt that our seniors, who were part of the '06 class, turned out to be the most successful class in the history of the SEC (48-7). All of our recruits are talking about that, and wanting to top it with their class.

Additionally, only rival fans still think Meyer's going anywhere, or won't be on the sidelines for 2010... and honestly, no reasonable person familiar with coaching, and Meyer specifically, thought he was going anywhere in the first place. He's a coach, period. He's done a great job of assembling an impressive staff, too; and has already begun delegating some of the more tedious tasks to them. He's already much improved: Very early top 25 for 2010 season | Gatorsports.com

In any event, the UT program will be back, too... it's not a matter of if, but when. Kiffin did a great sabotage job on y'all; but the likes of him can't knock any program completely out... although it'll be funny watching him come close to doing just that to USC. Once DD gets his staff set, and LK quits raiding the cupboard of coaches and recruits, it'll start looking much better for UT. Next season's recruiting should be significantly better. I think the UT program as a whole has regained a great deal of respect with the coaching change... I think Kiffin would have eventually done even more long-term damage than he already did by leaving.

I wasn't joking in my post though. That's exactly what Meyer does...

Interesting, how many UF coach/prospect meetings have you sat in on? How many times have you been sitting in a prospect's family's living room when Meyer was there?

We all know mommas in the South want to know that their boys are going to be molded by a good Christian father-figure. It's been that way down here since the beginning of the game; and all coaches, yours included, make certain they reassure parents that they will be good role models for their boys while they turn into men.

That was missing with Kiffin; but Dooley knows what it is to coach and recruit in the South.

Blame a person in the UF football office for having a loose tongue; not me. I'd be interested what one specific staff member's title is... I mean, when your job description is finding UF co-eds who are willing to help out on recruiting weekends...

What's the rule on banning trolls again?

I wasn't joking in mine either.

I wouldn't try to worry gator boy too much, that goes on at a lot of places.

I'm sure it does. Hell, it went on here under CPF. However, the University of Colorado and UGA cases have changed things a bit. Using sex to recruit is a dangerous tactic and just asking for Title IX trouble now.

Title IX has nothing to do with whether hostesses have sex with visiting recruits.

Not hostesses; simply co-eds period. And yes it does involve Title IX. Look into the Colorado and UGA cases. I'll link you to the UGA case below just because it came up on google quickly. Anything involving the unequal treatment of females and the athletic department has the potential element. This is a big deal because studies show that male student-athletes are much more likely to sexually assault someone than the regular student population.

With all of that said, I apologize for getting us off-topic. I'm just stating a fact (yes, I said fact) that Urban Meyer may preach like Jesus himself, but he's far from being squeaky clean. Parents fall for the ruse, and the kids are young and foolish enough not to question him as a hypocrite.

I think Meyer's secret is that he is a very good coach and recruiter, and he is based in a very talent-rich state.

Even if it isn't the sexy answer.

That record will be challenged since our (UA) 2008 clas is already 26-2 with only 4 seniors starting next year. Also to you it seems that only gators fans are reasonable. Even many of the people that get paid to follow CFB, not fans such as yourself, think that CUM is gone.

The fact is that UF and CUM have seen the SEC as a hole come back and now UF no longer has it easy. I really do not care what recruits go to UF because it will not change anything. This years team was suppose to be one of the best teams in SEC history as you stated, but yet out of the 4 teams we played from the SEC East UF was the weakest. I mean UT, USC, and Kentucky in that order gave us better games then UF did.

Enjoy your recruiting class right now, but I just hope you are still around in four years.

No... People are "HOPING" he is gone.

I predict some really good Bama / UF or Meyer / Saban battles in the next few years.

FWIW I have a good friend who goes to UF and a fair number of people down in gatorland seem to think Urban is gone for good. He's a family man, has serious health concerns, and millions on top of millions of dollars. He's still on an indefinite leave of abscence.

Its not just wishful thinking imo...
