At 6'8" this kid will be a monster when he gets in a college s&c program and puts on some more weight. Good gpa, too.

Three schools on touted OL Matt James' mind
Highly-coveted ESPNU 150 Watch List offensive lineman Matt James is already holding over 20 scholarship offers, according to affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com.

James mentioned three programs he's interested in from his long list of suitors, "I'm definitely looking at Ohio State, Notre Dame and Cincinnati."

Several other top schools including Alabama, Penn State, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Miami-FL, Tennessee, Michigan, Stanford and Illinois have also offered James.

Looks like he is looking to stay close to home from that statement.

Not Sure With Tennessee’s Direction

“I visited Tennessee before Layne Kiffin was the coach. I liked the campus and the area. I’m not sure what direction the program will take, it will be interesting to see how the program will go with Kiffin as the coach.” James said

“I don’t know when I will take all my visits. If I make up my mind I will commit. I’m not going to rush to a decision. Right now it’s not a big deal to commit early.” James added

I really like this guy. He is a beast of a brick wall. He is pretty much a Notre Dame lock. I just wish he would take a visit here, and see what were about before he committs to ND. This would be a huge grab !

Hearing he is very close to committing to Cincinnati. Could happen within the next week or so. Very good player.

Scout had posted it on their main recruiting page. Went to post the link...and James' commitment was there, but when the link was in place...James' commitment had been removed. Don't know what happened. Computer gremlins...or something.

I thought it strange James would commit to Duke.

If OSU could pull James and Henderson to go with Norwell, they would have 3 of the top 6 OTs in the country. That'd be dirty...

From everything I've heard here in Ohio, he appears to be a Buckeye lock

Not what I've heard. Yes he did call tOSU his leader but it's hardly over. He may very well end up going there in the end though.

Some quotes from the 1/4 Steve Wilfong article "James Has Leader With Long Way To Go"

“I haven’t even taken (official) visits to the other three schools,” the 6-foot-7, 280-pound James said. He is still planning his final three trips but nothing is set in stone yet.

“(Ohio State’s) the leader, they’re a great program. All four are great programs, (Cincinnati) is a rising program, but they haven’t had as much controversy as the other three. I haven’t (officially) visited the other three either. That kind of puts them a little bit ahead.”

He's visiting Florida Jan. 16, UC Jan. 21 and Notre Dame on Jan. 29

Lord Vader, it would be a trava-sham-ockery if they land Henderson, James, and Norwell.

Spoke to someone close to James just a few days ago. It definitely sounds to me like it comes down to Ohio State and Cincinnati. I wouldn't consider him anywhere near an OSU "lock" at this point.
