10 Predictions for the 2014 season.

Hard to say how they will finish: I see at least 5 wins, maybe 6 with Mizzou.

Negatives:

No Easley or Purifoy
New offensive scheme to learn
Lots of turnover on offense with transfers
Muschamp
Driskell best tool (legs) coming off serious injury
Weak oline
Weak WRs I think
Schedule: SECw Bama & LSU, at FSU

Positives:

OC Roper
Solid RBs
Servicable QB
Hargreaves, Fowler and solid defense returns
Schedule: Idaho, Eastern KY, Eastern Mich, KY & Vandy

All very valid. I don't think I've ever seen so many SEC teams with so many unknowns headed into a season. This could be a helluva crazy season.

Agree with the on the field assessment, but still hopeful that despite all the things you stated he recruited the best UT class we have seen in a few years. As we have seen in the past the "star" correlation from the various recruiting firms "WILL" translate into more wins. Check the top five teams from the last couple of years, their avg star ratings are in the high three-four range.

For the lazy. The top five teams will come at no surprise,
Alabama, OSU, USC, Nortre dame, LSU. All these teams have recruited very well and have near double digit wins. Synopsis: Recruit a top 5 classes, and the wins will come. I have yet to see CBJ get it totally done on the field (with the exception of USCjr last year). However the talent level that he inherited was not that great, and had like 30 days to put together a class. His first class was a top five class and his 2015 class is shaping up to be another top 5 class. If this trend continues the wins will be there by default. No team with several top 5 and top 10 classes has continual losing seasons. None of them have, not a one.

Interesting thoughts...on the other hand, we did start 13 4 star recruits against Vanderbilt last year.

He inherited alot of 4 star recruited players, and yet you say that the talent he inherited wasn't great. Then how do you know these new 4 star players are?

Also, to your point that "No team with several top 5 and top 10 classes has continual losing seasons. None of them have, not a one," I'll agree. But the flip side is also that no team posts continual losing seasons and regularly pulls in top 5-10 classes. If we post another losing season this year, it is doubtful we get a top 5-10 class.

The first two are completely wrong, FSU won't repeat, they lost too much talent at key positions on both sides of the ball. Secondly, Winston is extremely overrated as a QB, he struggled mightily to read the Auburn defense and make decisions in the BCS Title game. He lost his favorite target in Benjamin, and he injured his arm during the baseball season. The fact that he's not throwing right now tells me that he won't put up the same numbers that he did last season.

True. He did have a few 4 star players at his disposal, but the class that fools had coming in for that season wasn't a top 5 class. So we have one coming in this year, and should barring any unforeseen changes have one next year. That should set us up for a winning year for sure the following year due to our team will basically be comprised of 3.75*-4.5* (around 20-30 if all pans out) players with around 4-6 legitimate 5* Hurd, Malone, Preston Williams, Kahlil maybe two more get stars, maybe we land a couple more 5*'s (2015-2016) if I'm thinking right. I agree though, if we have a losing season this year, it will be hard to make the 2016 class a top 10 class, much less a top 5. Accompany that with our entire staff....dare I say it....would be gone with back to back to back losing seasons. Despite the recruiting classes.

Sorry for the major run on sentence/blob/paragraph. I just have to believe that with the talent that this staff is loading up there is a good chance that we turn the corner next year. The task with such a young team this year accompanied with the schedule they have leads me to think it will be a major win if we can get to 6 wins. I'm not ruling it out, just saying it will be a tall order.

I honestly don't agree. I'm afraid FL is a lot closer to the 2012 version than the 2013 one. They had an INSANE amount of injuries and went into the tank, but they have the talent to be a major handful. Add to that a team that is pissed off and playing for their coach and they could be legit.
I agree a lot more with number 4. Oklahoma is getting serious mileage off of last years AL game. I hope we are the team to expose them!

Florida will be much better. They have talent and depth. All of this talk about how bad they are is just----uninformed. Oklahoma might have caught Bama flat and unmotivated as Florida was the year before against Louisville. Florida is much better than many think and Oklahoma not as good. JMO.

Also, UF will be good again this year.

Agree. People thinking UF is going to have another down year and WM gets the axe are deluding themselves. Their offense will be better under Roper and getting everybody healthy will help greatly. I predict 9-11 wins for UF. Muschamp isn't going anywhere.

(1) Doudt that PAC-12 will be the top conference in college football this or any season.

(2) I hope that Brady Hoke succeeds at Michigan. Should he be fired, then Michigan will call upon bUTch and he will leave.....

If that happens I bet Meeshigan puts the feelers out to Less Miles first.

I agree they will be much improved, but 9-11 wins is a stretch, especially since most of their offensive line is gone, I can see 7-9 wins for them, Bama, FSU, Georgia and SC are probable losses.

I don't know if I completely agree with #3, but that's my favorite one. The question is how many wins will ole Muschamp need to keep his job?

Losing to FSU in a blow out at the Swamp will send him to the unemployment line.

Butch didnt really improve on the field (except for that one win against USC). Butch is firing up the fan base entirely with recruiting. He needs to do it on the field now.

The team played very well against UGA and USCjr. They looked 100x better in those games than they did against Oregon.

Considering the fact UT had to play the back to back NC champion, the SEC East champion, and the SEC West champion in consecutive games with a true freshmen qb, its kind of hard to look better. I think I'll give him a pass
