Any die hard fan of the vols will say that..I don't knock you one bit man...But there is a thing called getting cut you know..I thnk if he went to a school trained and kept his head up just like it is now the sky is the limit..Ut fans thought crompton being rated so high was good but in a down sec year he passed good against a down georgia team and people was like hey he is good Not!!!! When the sec gets back up he will not standout!!! Honestly half of those games the defense and hardesty kept the vols in them

Please don't compare Crompton to this kid. Every school in the country wanted JC. Hard work and heart can only get you so far until talent needs to take over. His just isn't on a BCS school level

The football played in this state is a far cry from the quality of football played in most others surrounding us. You think the reason the kid from Greenbriar you mentioned never saw pt at UT was because he simply was not on the same level as others on UT's roster? Very likely IMO.

Trust me from experience with the local talent that Greenbriar plays against when I tell you that the other schools they play every year are not very good, even the best of those schools, especially when compared to quality of ball that is played elsewhere in other states.

In case you feel the need to question my lack of playing I can tell you I was heavily recruited to Brentwood Academy during the series of state champ years they enjoyed. I decided to go elsewhere and got injured, never played past my second year in high school.

Of those kids I grew up playing football with on O and D-line that went to Brentwood Academy four went on to play college ball. One went to Furman and started, one went to TSU and started, another went Alabama and hardly saw the practice squad and the last quit his first year at UTC. The point of the story is that most of the best to come out of Tennessee football programs aren't good enough to play for two thirds of the SEC schools out there. This is fact.

And if Wallace had been under center as a junior or senior not even the defense and run game could have kept us in it.

Please do not try and compare the skill sets of the two, if they were in the same class Crompton would still be the much better prospect and anyone that wasn't carrying Bo's jockstrap would tell you the same.

How is this thread still so active on this forum?

From what I can tell, a guy who is more talented than almost anyone who posts on here, but about where AJ Suggs or Joey Mathews were talent wise is not ever coming to UT. As a result this thread is now at thirty pages? Were the message board fights that enjoyable?

He walked on to a bottom feeder in the SEC who we have beat 25 years in a row. I wouldn't exactly call that a superstar kind of player...

haha if Bo Wallace were to get the chance to come here he might be the new Rod Wilks. He doesn't even have a rating on ESPN's recruiting grades. This thread needs to go away, and the people that keep arguing his case should go with it. I'm sure he is a great kid with plenty of heart and all that... some kids were meant to play SEC football and some weren't. Go Vols.

I understand but you really don't know how he would fair honestly..Couldnt hurt to give him a chance I mean yall just had three criminals do some robbing..Nice players
