I know you don't have a better retort than that. I watched basketball last season and knew that the ACC sucked.

This wasn't about the SEC, which was admittedly down. It was about the ACC and its weakness contributing to the lame schedule that UNC and Duke had last season.

Yeah, the ACC should be real proud that Florida State is less awful than Auburn, Oregon State, or South Florida. The ACC had exactly one good team last season. The other ACC "power" got manhandled in the second round by the seventh best team in the Big East.

At least the ACC had one power. UT, the SEC's one mythical power, got manhandled in the third round of the tournament and the SEC didn't have anyone else even close.

How does that argument help yours regarding UNC's tough schedule? If you're trying to feel good about UNC, that's fine. Just say so.

You were talking about Memphis and their weak conference making their overall schedule weak. I said same applies to UNC, who had an even weaker OOC schedule. How does UT's schedule or the SEC have anything to do with it?

Duke, Clemson and Virginia Tech were all better teams than the SEC's second best team last year, and in the case of Duke, it was better by a mile.

I don't have time for this pointless argument. You guys are much like PAC-10 fans trying to argue that there conference is superior to the SEC in football. They're clearly delusional, and no amount of arguing will convince them otherwise.

The Clemson team that Ole Miss beat on a neutral floor? Remind me again how many NCAA tournament games Virginia Tech won last year. You are further proof that Kentucky fans are only the second most delusional group of hoops enthusiasts on Earth.

no they weren't.

Who did Clemson beat? Who did VT beat on their road to the NIT? Who did Duke beat (aside from an awful looking Wisconsin team)?

And finally, why do you continue to blather on about the SEC? You were on your high horse about Memphis. At least they had one power in their conference too.

but nobody is arguing about the SEC v the ACC. You shifted there to feel better about the pathetic outfit that was the ACC last season.

Here's something a coach once told me that I've always taken to heart, "The only people who make the RPI a centerpiece of their argument are people who don't know enough about basketball to actually watch and analyze it." I've never been more sure about the accuracy of his statement than right now.

:eek:lol: The ACC was tougher than the SEC last year.

2008 College Basketball Conference RPI Ratings

It's hilarious that SEC fans would be throwing stones about the toughness of another conference when the SEC was lousy last year.

RPI is the most irrelevant stat applied to any sport in history. It says absolutely nothing. I dont even know what it actually is supposed to mean.

Said fans almost make me ashamed I went to grad school there.
