I think we might have a chance of beating both Florida and UGA. It really depends on how beat up/down we are after the Oklahoma game. I like the fact that we get Florida later in the year when are younger players have some experience. Vandy will be the Vandy of old. Put that one down as a win. Bama will be Bama. As much as I hate to say it, put that one down as a loss.

as a gator fan, it's a no lose situation.

either florida wins....or florida looks for a new head coach.

it's a win-win scenario.

Gator fans will be outraged if ya'll lose to us and definitely calling for Muschamp's head.

We're practically Kentucky to UF nowadays. Pretty pathetic.

We got a 50-50 with the gators, 2 years away from dancing in the streets for beating bama, hope I am wrong just don't see it with this young team and next year on road, don't wont to be nega vol but both OL and DL VERY YOUNG and thin, that's where it is won and lost in this league.

FLA plays Bama 1 week before us. And then us at Neyland. And after Players hearing much more of the fire Mushamp stuff. It's time to flip this deal.(hope)

i have set my goal for this staff at 7-5. Anything less and I start to get nevous. I think two of the strings must be broken this year to reach 7-5. I'm sure the pundits will go with 5-7 or at best 6-6 but it's time for better.

Must be young fan, 6 and 6 would be huge for this team, no line play on either side of ball and young no way 7 wins, you might as well set your goal at 10 wins if it is 7, plus we are not set at the QB and they were playing against our D.

UF - Should have won last year, like our chances this year
Bama - Lost a ton of starters and new QB this year. Will be interesting
UGA - New QB, got lucky to escape last year.
Vandy - Always should win

Uga QB is good

I'll will be able to give you a better answer in August. It all depends on how our Defense develops. They won't be able to score with our O because of our weapons so if our D can be decent we can out score them.

We know exactly what a bad defense results in.

Unfortunately they have a bye before us. Lets just hope Bama beats up on them like we did on Georgia in 13

Vandy should defiantly be a win this year. UF is possible, it's defiantly the best shot we have had in a long while. Florida not being our 1st SEC game will help as will home field. UGA is possible but I don't see it this year. We are playing in Athens and it is our 1st SEC game. I think it depends a lot on how quickly the O line Gels. Bama...no, that's going to take a few years.

The fact that we play UF later in the season totally changes the comparison to the majority of the yrs in this series. It's a benefit many a Vol fan has been wanting for a LONG time.

It should be a cause for concern if we don't win this game or at least make a he'll of a game of it.

Vols should have beaten Florida in several games in which they lost, going back through the 90s. As far as I'm concerned, it's time to beat them ten years straight. To hell with the Florida Gators. Go Vols!

Of the four mentioned streaks, I think if we end 2 we make a bowl. If we win 3 I say 7 wins at least. we have to win two of these four games in my opinion along with the 4 OOC games and Kentucky. Then throw in a win over ole miss or Missouri or both. I'm still in limbo in those two games

Possibly, but we thought that in 2012, and Florida ended up 11-1 in the regular season.

Actually, the last time Bama had a 7 game streak on Tennessee, UT's entire defense somehow didn't see David Palmer line up at QB, allowing Bama to tie the game (a tie that we later forfeited). That 7 game streak became 8-0-1 before the game you mentioned.

Glad to see that you're so up to speed on the series history.

Care to elaborate on why that game was forfeited?

Hint: its something Alabama and Auburn have a lot of experience with.

Hint? As if I am somehow aware of the forfeit but not the reason for it?

Either way, 4387's historical analysis will still be incorrect.

Possibly, but we thought that in 2012, and Florida ended up 11-1 in the regular season.

The '12 UF loss ignited the Gruden Fiasco which imho caused the Vols 1-2 wins that year. We had Gameday on campus, and the build up of "this is the year" was so big that losing it changed things drastically. Especially since we were winning in the 3rd qtr. I hate thinking about that game cause what would have happened if our O wouldn't have gone 3andOut after the huge momentum building fake punt stop. Add that to how the crowd already was, and giving the depleted D a well earned rest we could have sealed up the deal. That to me was the issue of '12...the O not putting in the final death nail when the D stepped it up and handed it to them to do it. Not how horrible the players on D that worked their butts off in O&W were like so many like to bash. The Mizzou game 4th qtr is another clear example.

This fan base needs to take it game by game, and not get to excited to early cause "We r UT" or "We r due.". This fanbase will bite it's nose to spite it's face, so that's what worries me the most more than anything for our future success. We frankly are in no position to believe we WILL beat most of the teams on or schedule. We should believe we can hang with the majority of them with good shots of winning them. That's where we r imo.
