I was in Vegas for a trade show this week and decided to lay some cash on the Vols. I put $20 (high roller, I know) on them to win the National Title. I was just kinda shocked when I saw the odds. Auburn was a 50:1 last year and they had a new coach and were terrible in 2012. What do you guys think of the odds?

We could win it if:

Jalen Hurd is the next Adrian Peterson
Riley Ferguson is the next Johnny Manziel
Von Pearson is the next CP
Josh Malone is the next JH

And our D somehow improves drastically.

Wouldn't those odds be the same for the overwhelming majority of teams in the country?

It's pretty much less than a 1% shot for like 2/3rds of all teams playing in FBS, and that's not even factoring in the teams like Bowling Green and Marshall, who may have a high chance of going undefeated, but have no shot to play for a title even if they do manage an undefeated season.

2 more years and we have a chance with a couple more of Jones's recruiting classes.

We have some awesome talent coming in this year, we just simply don't have the depth.

50:1 for Auburn still means you lose 100% of your money. Its a fools game. Quit while you're only down $20.

Who's blocking for them?

we haven't had depth for 10 years, i am sick of that excuse. it's bull. players give their all which we know if they do by the heart monitor. if they don't they sit now. we have talent now no excuse. it's time to see if these coaches can coach this season will determine that. a co worker always says we have no depth, he is a Tennessee fan and he predicts to be 5-7 this year again.

It's not bull.

The talent's better and the depth is improving, but it's not where it needs to be.

Dude it's $20. I don't really think we will win but the two guys with me laid $20 on SC so I had to do it. This was the only gambling I did in my 3 days in Vegas.

Hitting the lottery is about like my Vols winning the NC this year. But hey when I am in the store or getting gas I usually waste 20 on lottery tickets, but I would have shopped around for higher odds. But Jones will get it done.
