Mitt Romney's campaign and a joint fundraising committee with the Republican National Committee raised a combined $101.3 million during July, the Romney campaign announced Monday. This is the second consecutive month that Romney has raised more than $100 million in a month, having first broken his own monthly fundraising record in June by bringing in $106 million.

And, for the third month in a row, the Obama campaign was outraised by his Republican rival. The Obama campaign brought in $75 million last month, the campaign announced via Twitter.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus responded to the Romney camp's robust fundraising saying, "Americans are clearly looking for a change in the White House."

"Mitt Romney has a plan that will create jobs, grow the economy, and build a stronger middle class - that is why he is seeing such strong support," said Priebus in his written statement.

I'd be stunned if Romney didn't outraise Obama.

Good grief. Just yesterday you jabbering about how any commentary supportive of an Obama candidate is pure rationalization, then you come out with garbage like this.

The incumbent is supposed to kill it on the fundraising trail because of the free mike. Obama isn't, yet that doesn't signal some popularity issues in your mind, albeit undecided.

Not sure I follow you on this.

Romney is backed by millionaires and billionaires. He can easily raise $100 million in a month. Child's play for him.

More like Romney is a good salesman because he has been raising money for decades now. It's called having "Business Experience". Something Obama doesn't have

being the face of a professional fundraising campaign.

So when Obama raised a ton it was theatre, whereas when Romney does it's a powerful statement against the incumbent ?

Romney needs to release 10 years of tax returns.

At this point, given the saturation I've seen so far down here in Florida from both camps, I am thinking that the only thing worth spending money on is get out the vote.

What? It's about having had a job vs not having had a job. Romney definitely had one.

it wasnt skill

This isn't some massive political machine vs. a guy with good business experience and connections that bring him money.

They are both benefactors of massive political machines, and with the current structure of campaign finance, any set precedents are utterly worthless.

They will both have massive levels of special interest contributions, but Romney will have multitudes more by November, Obama has a significantly larger amount raised by small individual contributions. That, however, will be a drop in the bucket compared to 2008.
