Chad Withrow on Midday 180 just said that three senior classes in history have had one win taken away with a call reversal (I am assuming in all of NCAA). This UT senior class has had 4 (LSU, NC, GA, Vandy). Wow- I knew that, but just to hear that explains why all of us are so ticked off. That just isn't right.

Not sure this one counts considering Georgia still would have had a chance to tie the game.

Of the 4, the call in the NC game was by far the worst.

amen. I was there 50 yard line 2nd row. Right behind the N. Carolina bench. When they announced that call the place went nuts. Plastic bottles among other things littered the field. I saw an older woman next to me flipping off the refs. LOL Worst part was that only moments before we were all chanting SEC SEC SEC...

This is the whole point of why I posted a thread right after the SC game about my irrational fear that I'd wake up Monday to find the game had somehow been taken from us.

I was blown up as an idiot for starting the thread.

Well, Saturday night as I began to want to celebrate when I saw the chains drawn tight, I held back, a sense of dread pervading my thoughts. Three minutes later, they had stolen another one from us.

I've never witnessed anything like it in all my 40+ years of watching sports. TN has been ripped, repeatedly and often and it's high time the pendulum swung in our favor. I thought it was just Dooley, the Unluckiest Coach I Ever Saw, but I see now it's the whole program is snake bit.

What, exactly, was stolen? UT didn't make the stop on 4th down. The replay official didn't give Vanderbilt anything more than they had earned on the play, not did he take anything away from Tennessee.

This makes me embarrassed to be a VOL fan. The only game we got screwed in was NC. The Vandy game was the right call, and they clearly got the first down. It never should have came to that had our offense not been total garbage the whole game.

Your statement implies that the replay official saw "indisputable" video evidence that the ball was on the 33 yd line. This has been debated on VN ad nauseum, but the fact remains that NO such video evidence exists. The ball cannot be seen nor can one be sure of where the ball is being held by the QB in any of the angles they had. Yet the replay official overturned the call on the field.

Prior to the overturn, TN was in clear possession of a victory.

So, yes, stolen.

Unless he was holding the ball somewhere between his knees and crotch, then he got the first down. Since that seems unlikely to the point of absurdity, then nothing was stolen from anyone.

HAHA as a VOL fan you have to be joking. Guys we were out coached and out played by Vanderbilt. We weren't screwed over we where beat by a team that wanted it more. CBJ and Mike B. garbage scheme on offense was exposed by a team that isn't half of what we are as a school. Lick your wounds like a man and quit making excuses as a VOL fan as to why our players came out with no heart, even after the a@@ handing they received from Vanderbilt last year. Our seniors are nothing more then losers, and losing is a state of mind. Our seniors are losers who have been taught by a loser the past three years.

LOL. I love you defeatist guys. "We played like crap. We had no heart. We got it handed to us."

Yet, for some unknown reason, the VOLS were in the lead with 50 seconds to go in the game and Vandy couldn't rush up the middle for a single yard on two straight plays when the game depended on it. (I'm not even gonna start to discuss the crap spot on 3rd down where dude was given the 34 or better when the ball hit the ground at the 34 and a half.)

But, somehow it's us who deserved to lose. "Game wasn't stolen, we didn't earn it!" Tell me how the Vandy team (7-4) earned the win?

Your post is the reason the replay rules read the way they do IMO.

Did you see LSUs sneak against A&M Saturday? Im curious as to why that spot was not overturned.

I think why people say stolen is because everybody is celebrating thinking we have won then "wait a second". It is one emotion to the next and that is hard on you.

Never thought about that. That's just crazy. It has been unreal the last few years. When this turns around there will be some butt-kicking like never before seen.
GO VOLS!

I agree with what you are stating. Somewhere this thread got out of tilt.

This Sr class had 4 calls reversed in games that resulted in a loss. The fact that they were correct reversals or not has zero relevance to the Stat.

On that we can all agree.

Insane roller coaster of emotions that we can't seem to get off of.

UNC one is the only legit one to complain about IMHO; UGA is debatable but you can't count that as a win, plus I think the call was correct.

if they would just take the Cooler with them, and get a highstepper to lead the band that can highstep like the old days, most albatrosses, or albatri, will be gone.
