Does Franklin have any connection to Happy Valley?

He better jump at the first job opportunity he gets before he gets the "look".

He is a Pennsylvania native and coached at Kutztown, PA earlier in his career. He was at Maryland as well as OC and coach in waiting. I would assume he knows the recruiting ins and outs of that territory.

I was kinda joking with this post. I'm not sold he's all that great of a coach. Maryland effing sucked while he was there. Vandy sucks too. They have had success with trick plays. They are a team loaded with seniors and juniors who appear to be playing "inspired" football. We have seen this before with Vandy though. They are a Div. 1 football team, no surprise that every once in a while this may happen to a football team. I'm not sold it's all Franklin.

Vandy has very little chance of ever being mentioned athletically in the same breath as Stanford. It could also be said they have no chance to ever be mentioned in the same breath academically as Stanford.

They are a very good academic institution and their basketball team is very good. Football needs alot of work but you just never know.

Vandy could be Stanford with the right coach and administration. It seems that they've never really cared about football, like Northwestern.

Northwestern has won the Big 10 8 times including 3 since 1995. Vandy has never won and will never win the SEC.

People are fickle. It's gonna be bad for a while. But then the students and fans and alumni will want their school back, and people will begin to associate the whole thing with the people involved at the time. Getting rid of the president and coach is the smartest thing they could've done if you ask me. Recovery would've taken a long longer if they had waited.

No one is answering question. Will he get Penn St. job? Will he ever coach at UT in future?

No and No.

If I were a coach I wouldn't even take PSU phone calls about a job interview. That place is a dumpster fire right now and it's only going to get worse.

No.no. I could see Schiana possibly take it and maybe Golden just because of his connections there. I think it would have to be someone with an emotional connection and love for PSU. Personally, I would bulldoze the facilities and start over.

All joking aside, Vandy has a lot more going for them than the vast majority of FBS teams IF the administration made football a priority.

Also, as good as Vandy is academically, Stanford is to Vandy what Vandy is to UT. Stanford is that good.

Anything that causes angst, fear, and loathing among Vandy fans is all right by me.

I don't know about the rest of Vanderbilt's academic programs, but Vanderbilt University Medical Center is on par with any in the world. They've developed a number of procedures done nowhere else, and when you get to a level like that comparing academic programs is purely semantics.

I'm laughing at how overhyped Franklin is; yeah he's done a good job for the situation he walked into, but they haven't even won 6 games yet and I don't think they do.

100% agree.

I would think not every AD is as stupid as Hammy to just hire a coach who has never proven anything in his life. There's NO way in hell that you pay a guy 3 or 4 million a year who might/or might not be a great coach.

Reminds me of Dooley's "8-5 in post game handshakes" line.

God I hate Vanderbilt.

They really are insufferable when they have even the smallest glimmer of hope. I hate hearing that crap on the radio. At least 104.5 is WAY more UT-centric now that George is gone and Willy has taken his Preds loving, Tim Corbin jerkin' ass over to The Game.
