I also didn’t know UT had a huge gymnasium. I knew it was always a tough environment but why couldn’t a coach turn that place into a powerhouse. Over 20,000 capacity like Rupp. I don’t think there are to many that big

Some Tennessee boosters wanted to hire Pitino when Majors was coaching but were afraid that Majors would leave if he found out that Pitino would have a bigger salary than he did.

This was the argument for years that Tennessee couldn’t pay the basketball coach more than football (who they got an alma mater discount from) coach. Now it’s a gross mismatch with the highest paid coach is under performing.

My favorite Tennessee teams were when Pearl had Chism and that group. Seemed like the buzz was there back then. I remember Tennessee having the #1 team in the country several times not long ago

Would you want a younger coach with potential and and high drive to create a new culture or a seasoned veteran that has always been a little above average and will keep the program afloat? I think they could be creative with the next coach like they were in football. If I’m a head coach and the Tennessee job was open it would be very attractive. The question tho is Barnes even in the hot seat with the university or just with the fan base. It don’t seem like everyone has completely gave up on Barnes I think a lot of people are content with him for the moment. Did the Kentucky game just bring out some Barnes haters or has it been a lingering discussion for awhile

look at the threads the haters come out after every loss -- coaching changes are always a risk with the mid major guy that has one or two good years and someone throws a big contract his way and turns out to be a bust - if Barnes were to leave I would just promote Schwartz and see what he can do

I tried to change my name to something else but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Best I did was the name under my main name to part time vol. I’ll change my picture so when I post everybody won’t automatically think I’m an irrational UK fan coming to shat on the vols. I just enjoy the discussion and the Tennessee forums are better imo. Kentucky forum has gone dead it seems like so if your wondering why I’m even on here that’s the reason. Don’t post here to put the vols down or brag on the cats. I’m not on every one of UKs opponents forums just enjoy seeing what the UT fan base is talking about since I’m a Tennessean at heart so don’t think I’m on here being a shiturd

You’re a “fan” of both Tennessee & Kentucky?
Well I am a Kentucky fan you could say just from that’s what I grew up on. Dad had me watching Kentucky games as a kid and I used to be a die hard fan that would cry if they lost a game as a kid. Now just more of a casual fan. My Grandad is a straight up Tennessee fan but over the years he has watched a lot of Kentucky games with me and turned into a UK fan which is exactly what happened to me. I have watched so many tennesse games and kept up with them for so long the vols have kind of grown on me. Living in Tennessee my whole life and having so many friends that love Tennessee probably plays a part in me having a soft spot for the vols. So if I had to be honest i would say I’m a Kentucky BASKETBALL fan over anything and I am a Tennessee football fan. Even tho Stoops has Kentucky football in a good position and it’s exciting to win a little bit Ik the second he leaves UK it’s back to the bottom. So as a fan I would be happy to see Kentucky win the championship in bball and Tennessee win the FB championship. Answer your question good enough?🤓

Only college basketball game I have been to was at Rupp and the only college stadium I have been to is Neyland which was an awesome experience I just wish it was a bigger game. Went to a game when UT played Troy so it wasn’t the full experience but still great. Place is huge and the sound system was amazing. Luckily the only bb game I went to was at Rupp the year we had Anthony Davis and won the title. Me and my dad were nosebleed sections but still a good experience. So from my dad being UK and both my grandads UT I’m a undercover Tennessee fan. I wouldn’t mind going to a UT bball game tho honestly. Only bad part is I’m as far west Tennessee as it gets and Knoxville is a good 6 hour drive

Ha well alrighty then. Yu asked if I was a fan of both. Guess I could of said yes or no
Lmao sure thing. I’m actually a Baylor Basketball fan, love Bears so ya know…was an Alabama football fan more so but this year started watching Georgia a lot so I would say I rooted for the Bulldogs this year, got me a sweet National Championship shirt today in the mail!!! Was a Yankees fan most of my life, but once the Red Sox broke the curse I rooted for them, until Atlanta built their new stadium then I was a Braves fan, got me a World Series shirt this year!!! Huge Lebron fan, loved the Cavs growing up, games were too cold to attend though so decided to cheer for Miami for awhile, got a sweet championship with DWade, honestly though preferred the west coast so started cheering for the Warriors a few years back, but definitely opted to go back to my mans Lebron once he went to LA.

Ya feel me?

Not really. I get what your saying but I don’t get it. I live in Tennessee and my backyard is the Kentucky state line. Not crazy to like both teams. You make it sound like I’m bamdwagoning to whoever is winning

Hard to beat anybody shoots damn near 100% from the field. Seriously though, everything Kentucky threw up there went in. Not much you can do against that.
