Not for a player of his caliber, IMO. They put themselves in a position every year to be very picky with out of state guys.

Though he says he is still committed to Auburn, ESPNU 150 Watch List OG Spencer Region reopened his recruitment on Thursday, he tells ESPN affiliate AuburnUndercover.com. Region plans to take visits to Texas, USC, Penn State, Oregon, Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama before making a final decision. (We already know that Texas isn't taking any more O-lineman, so that's a nonstarter.)

Where will he end up? Well, fellow Auburn commit Reese Dismukes, the other top lineman in Alabama, tells Rivals.com's Auburn site that he has always believed that Region would end up in Tuscaloosa. You'll recall that Region called a press conference in February to announce a commitment to Alabama, but then shocked everyone by picking Auburn.

"A few hours before the announcement, Alabama told him he couldn't go on any more visits if he committed to them," Dismukes said. "He didn't want to commit to them after that so he committed to Auburn. When he opened up his recruitment, I was already expecting it. Even in the beginning, I thought he would change (to Alabama). I knew he grew up a big Alabama fan and probably felt like he overreacted that day."

For his part, Dismukes said that he is "very happy with my Auburn commitment. I'm 100-percent committed to Auburn and that won't change. I plan to help bring in another top recruiting class."

For now, it looks like Nick Saban isn't going to cede Alabama to Gene Chizik so easily.
This was from ESPN a couple days ago. Dont know if its still true.

The laughable part about this article is that Region helped recruit Dismukes (who just about anybody will tell you is a better prospect) to Auburn and now it doesn't look like Saban will take Region back. He shouldn't have been such a baby.

And we'll enjoy another BCS trophy presentation at Wal-Mart in the near future.

yeah, I'm sure the local Wal-Mart will be rolling back the prices and reserve a shelf in case that does happen again...then again, there may be a Morrison's Cafeteria available also...GBO!

Who cares , would you turn down that trophy, don't think so. As far as this kid, he is a drama queen, I know Tn. is way behind in recruiting, so maybe he will go north.

I thought the comment was pretty funny. Well played Demon Vol.

For Region, hes gonna have to impress the staff and earn a scholarship back. It's not out of the question that he will regain a Bama offer.

Region's top 2 are Bama and Wisconsin now. Texas, LSU, and Oregon round out his top 5, but those first 2 have seperated themselves.

This kid is the biggest damn baby in the world.
I was thinking I recalled him being a headcase. Is this the guy that Saban pulled a scholarship from and Auburn had issues with as well or was it the other way around? I think I'd rather steer clear of dramaqueens on the Oline.

Lifelong Bama fan but didn't think Alabama was paying him enough attention so he commits to Auburn, a school he hates, just to piss Alabama off then decommits a few months later. To my knowledge he has lost his place at Alabama but I'm sure TideWarrior knows more about that.

Is his talent worth the headache? He has an impressive offer list for sure.
