'11 FL DE James Wilder Jr.

It's bittersweet for me, but nothing makes me happier than UGA being made to look like fools.

I look forward to Wilder going up against Powell, Floyd, Easley and Martin.

Lawrence, as a Gator fan, who is your biggest rival? UGA or FSU? I am assuming FSU since you share the same state.

Well I was calling Bama for the longest so I go that part wrong but I knew this kid wasn't headed to Gainesville.... one thing I will say about Jimbo and FSU ALL excuses must be left at the door after this class. If they dont win in two year they'll never be back. Sidenote on Saban....he told Wilder clan a few weeks after 7 on 7 that he wanted Wilder in Bama's class but just not at RB for Bama. Think he's the only coach that has been upfront with this kid and not just getting him on campus to bury him on the depth chart then move him to running back like ALL programs were going to do in the end.

just got beat. even though Plant's HC has been rumored to steer kids away from UF it's a long way until signing day and between now and then the rubber meets the road on post-Tebow Florida offense and first-time head coach Jimbo Fisher.

fan allegiances aside he probably should have picked UGA as their offense is the best fit. the Pistol is probably the worst fit of the offenses of his finalists. but like it's been said before maybe it's part of the plan to expedite his transition to LB.

I'm pretty pumped about the UF-FSU game this year from a standpoint of Florida's inexperience at key positions could make their year very interesting.

Hey Noles,

Dont get to comfortable the NCAA will be knocking on your doors soon.

Looking for this guy

I can't even begin to describe how awesome I think it is that Wilder chose FSU after all the puppies on the Rivals boards were talking smack about him being a lock to UGA

I was a litle ticked after Kerbyson got the shaft yesterday...but that definitely made up for it

What do you mean he got the shaft?

What do you mean he got the shaft?

Rivals said he was too weak and raw to get the 4 star bump...yet that same thing could be said for every 5.8 4 star OL that they have so far...

They also said offer lists don't matter yet one of the most raw OL prospects out there this year...Trip Thurman...is a 4 star...

His film, offer list and camp performances are nowhere near as impressive as Kerbyson's yet he is committed to UF so there you go...4 star

Rivals is ridiculous this year

First off Chip and the Georgia beat writers didn't break the story. It was a sports writer from Tampa Bay....where Wilder is from. Most UGA fans still thought he was committing to FSU and knew it was probably a hoax to drum up publicity. Congrats to FSU for getting a great player. However if you ask any UGA fan who they want as RB at Georgia and 99.9% of them are going to tell you Isaiah Crowell all day everyday and twice on Saturday. Georgia was in a win win situation. If we got Wilder great, if we didn't we still have Crowell and Bray to go after (who are both in-state guys) and Wilder didn't commit to Florida.

why does a guy with absolutely no interest in UT have a 564 count thread?

- He's the #3 player in the country on Rivals
- The posters here want to think we have a chance with some of the top-ranked guys (although everyone pretty much admitted we had no chance with Widler)
- It's the offseason, so what else is there to post about?

I know you don't see yourself as a UGA homer and you don't want to be called that...but this post is the epitome of homerism...

When you blow off losing the #3 overall prospect after many media outlets were reporting his commitment as a sure thing AND claim your collective fanbase would much rather have a differant player...all of this on an opposing teams message board no less...well that's about as homeristic as it gets

I am totally a UGA homer....and I am not blowing off not getting Wilder but you have to understand that Wilder is a LB wanting to play RB and he has been good at RB but is he a better RB than Isaiah Crowell....no. Georgia has been trying to get their foot in the door of Carver for some time. Carver is 45 minutes from Auburn and their coach is an Auburn grad. They usually put 3-5 really good players into the NCAA every year and they usually leave the state. We got Jarvis back and now have a good shot at Isaiah and 3 more really good players next year.
