I kind of hope they offered him as a DT. We're sitting pretty with a few OL and not hearing as much on DL which is a must in this class so I'm hoping DL with Jones. From what I hear he aint too shabby on D either.

Good to see he has us out front at least, regardless of where we are looking at him to play.

Per TOS, JD Jones does not have a Vol offer, nor do they seem to have a whole lot of interest in him at the moment.

He was never going to get a Vol offer. The mis-information and people actually being happy about every rumored offer we throw around is truly hilarious. I think they could offer a backup high school player and people on here would be happy about it.

Well it actually worries me sometimes when I read these thread regarding offers. I know I am not a coach and they definitely know better than I do. Thurman is definitely one recruit I think we should have offered but like I said they know better than I do.

Thurman has definitely impressed at some pretty big-time camps in recent weeks. He sounds like he's a very legit prospect.

“Tennessee’s on top, Auburn’s next, then Georgia Tech,” said the 6-foot-3, 285-pound lineman. “It’s a pretty big lead. I was leaning to Auburn, but after my visit to Tennessee I saw that they have the total package, both education-wise and athletically.”

“I was surprised by the Tennessee offer, because they hadn’t really seen me that much but I was sure happy when I got it,” he said. “I think it’s a nice city; that was the main thing I liked about my visit. I worked with both Coach Smith and Coach Hiestand and they both let me know that they wanted me there. I’m pretty athletic for a big man so they wanted to try me at both center and right guard. The coaching staff has actually talked to me about both offensive line and defensive tackle.”

- Scout

JB said he knows VQ is saying he doesn't have an offer but Jones, his high school coach, and Chad Simmons all say he does have an offer.

No way this guy is a take if he wants to commit at this point. They don't take this kid with KK, Crowder, Kelly, AR, Debell, etc. all still on the table. He might have an offer, but I would be shocked if it were committable.

I agree. Is he saying he has an Auburn offer? It doesn't look like he does.

Just like Gabe Wright doesn't have an offer from UT according to the same site you get your info from. When it comes to offensive lineman, I'm pretty sure Coach Hiestand doesn't need help finding them.

J.D. is rated three star 5.5 by Rivals.

He has offers from Arkansas, Illinois State, Memphis, MTSU, Western Carolina, and UT.

I read that he had a pretty descent camp with us, and that's where he earned his offer. You can check out his Rivals profile:

J.D. Jones - Yahoo! Sports

-I went to the first game and he looked pretty stout. Played Pepperel, which I heard was ranked #7 in GA. They were BIG, and a power rush team, but Cartersville stood their ground, anchored by J.D.

Also, I work out with a teacher at CHS, and he said J.D.'s dad is the OL coach, and has coached handfuls of D1 talent at the high school level, and said the rave about J.D. is that he is very strong. He didn't have any numbers for me, but says that's what everyone says about him.

Sounds good to me but from what I have heard we are done at O-Line besides Tiny, and Clear as TE/OL. I am not a expert TIFWIW.

And there's no way he is a take right now. Only spots left (in my mind) for pure OL are for Richardson and Asiata if the staff likes what they see from him.

Pretty much my thinking. We'll see how they feel about Asiata pretty soon. Clear will get his best shot at TE here if he chooses us over UF. We are looking very, very good on offensive line recruiting and DB recruiting.

Hubbs has said over and over he does NOT have an offer from Tennessee like he claims and that he had a poor showing at camp. Next.
